(See Companion Resolution 2002-248, 2002-249) RESOLUTION NO. 2002-247 2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CHARTER OF SAID CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO 3 RELATING TO THE SALARY OF COUNCIL MEMBERS 4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 5 6 7 8 9 SECTION 1. Recitals. (a) In accordance with the Constitution of the State of California, the City of San Bernardino, a municipal corporation, has adopted a Charter. (b) The Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino desire to submit to the electors the Charter Amendment set forth below in bold type in this resolution. SECTION 2. Submittal to Electors. The following proposed amendment set forth in bold type to the Charter of the City of San Bernardino is submitted to the qualified electors of the City 10 II 12 13 of San Bernardino for their approval or rejection at the consolidated special municipal election to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2002. 14 PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT NO. 15 16 17 It is proposed that Section 24-A of the Charter of the City of San Bernardino be amended in its entirety (strike-out version of current wording is shown Erst) so that the entire Section (shown in bold type) would now read as follows: 18 19 Section 24-A. Effective January 1, 22 2003, the annual salary of each Council mcmber shall be set at twelve and one- half percent (12 1/2%.) of the salary for a Supcrior Court Judge, County of San 23 Bernardino, State of California, as of Jnly 1, 2002. Thereafter, said annual 24 salary shall be adjusted and implemented January 1 of each subsequcnt year at the samc twelve and one-half percent (12 1/2%) figure of the salary for said 25 26 27 28 Superior Court Judge thcn in effect on said January 1 date.
