HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984 ORDINANCE NO. 1984 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO PRESCRIBING RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE PLATTING AND SUBDIVISION OF LAND; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATIONS THEREOF; DESIGNATING THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION AS THE ADVISORY AGENCY; AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1589 AND ALL AMENDMENTS THERETO AND OTHER ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 AUTHORITY 1.10 AUTHORITY The authority for these regulation is derived from an act of the Legislature of the State of California know as the Subdivision Map Act as set forth in the Business and Professions Code of California. 1.20 ADVISORY AGENCY The City Planning Commission is hereby designated as the ADVISORY AGENCY to the Mayor and Council on all matters related to the subdivision of land. 1.30 PRINCIPLES AND PURPOSES This ordinance shall have as its purposes the establishment and enforcement of the following principles in the interes of protecting the health, safety and general welfare of the people of San Bernardino: A. Effectuatin the objectives established for the development of the City in the Master Plan, and the Precise Plans based thereon. B. Establishing standards for lot area and dimensions, and the creation of reasonable building sites. C. Providing standards for the construction and installation of streets, roads, alleys, highways, public utilities and other facilities. D.
