HomeMy WebLinkAbout2899 1 ORDINANCE NO. 2899 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING ORDI- NANCE NO. 1984 ENTITLED IN PART "AN ORDINANCE . . . GOVERNING THE PLATTING AND SUBDIVIDING OF LAND . . ."; AND PROVIDING FOR UNDER- GROUND UTILITY SERVICE FOR RESIDENTIAL SUBDIVISIONS. THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 2 3 4 5 6 SECTION ONE: Ordinance No. 1984 is hereby amended by adding thereto Section 4.60 to read as follows: "4.60 UNDERGROUND UTILITY SERVICE FOR SUBDIVISIONS: 7 8 9 A. Utility lines, including but not limited to electric, communications, street lighting and cable television shall be required to be placed underground in accordance with the specifi- 10 11 12 The sub- cations of the public utility providing such services. 13 divider is responsible for complying with the requirements of this Section, and he shall make the necessary arrangements with the utility companies for the granting of easements and installation 14 15 16 of such facilities. Exceptions to the underground requirement are 17 as follows: 18 10 Transformers, pedestal mounted terminal boxes, meter .. 19 cabinets and concealed ducts may be placed above ground if they are used solely for the purpose of providing service within the sub division and are used solely in connection with the underground 20 21 22 transmission or distribution lines; and 2. Poles supporting electricity transmission lines, and 23 24 the electricity transmission lines supported by such poles, may be situated above the surface of the ground if such lines are not connected to any distribution line situated within the subdivision and do not in any way serve any part of the subdivision; and 3. Poles supporting street lights, and the electrical lines within said poles, may be situated above the surface of the ground; and 4.
