AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE CARRYING AND POSSESSION OF
DEADLY OR DANGEROUS WEAPONS IN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO.
THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE: "Dangerous or deadly weapon" includes, but
is not limited to:
1. Any dirk or dagger;
2. Any knife with. a blade three inches Qr more in length;
3. Any snap-blade, spring~blade or gravity knife regardless
of length of the blade;
4. Any ice pick or similar sharp stabbing tool;
5. Any straight-edge razor or any razor blade fitted to a
handle;
6. Any dangerous or deadly weapon within the meaning of
any law of this State restricting the use thereof;
7. Any cutting, stabbing or bludgeoning weapon or device
capable of inflicting grievous bodily harm;
8. Any firearm other than:
a. one carried pursuant to a valid permit issued by a
duly authorized governmental authority, or
b. an ordinary rifle or shotgun lawfully carried for
purposes of hunting or other lawful sport.
SECTION TWO: It is unlawful for any person to have any
deadly or dangerous weapon concealed upon his person or who has
in his immediate physical possession while in a school or upon
school premises.any such weapon.
SECTION THREE: It is unlawful for any person, while carrying
concealed upon his person any dangerous or deadly weapon, to loaf
or loiter upon any public street, sidewalk or alley or to wander
about from place to place with no lawful business thereby to
perform, or to hide, lurk or loiter upon or about the premises
of another.

SECTION FOUR: It is unlawful for any person who has con-
2 cealed upon his person or who has in his immediate physical posses-
3 sion any dangerous or deadly weapon to engage in any fight or
. to participate in any other rough or disorderly conduct in a
5 school or upon school premises or upon any public place or way
6 or upon the premises of another.

SECTION FIVE: It is unlawful for any person who has con-
8 cealed upon his person any dangerous or deadly weapon, to loiter
9 about any place where intoxicating liquors are sold or any other
10 place where the public attends.

SECTION SIX: It is unlawnll for any person to have in his
12 possession, in any automobile, any dangerous or deadly weapon,
13 but this restriction shall not be. deemed to prohibit the carry-
14 ing of ordinary tools or equipment carried in good faith for
15 uses of honest trade or business, or for the purpose of legi-
16 timate sport or recreation.

SECTION SEVEN: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause
18 or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be uncon-
19 stitutional such decision shall not affect the validity of the
20 remaining portions of this ordinance. The Mayor and Common
21 Council hereby declare that they would have passed this ordinance
22 and each section, subsection, sentence, clause and phrase thereof,
23 irrespective of the fact that anyone or more other sections,
24 subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared uncon-
25 stitutional.

SECTION EIGHT: The Mayor and Common Council hereby declare
27 that their purpose in passing this ordinance is to supplement
28 the State law regulating and controlling deadly weapons, Penal
29 Code. Sec. 12000. et seq.
30 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was duly
