2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF DISTRICT NO. 181.

WHEREAS, heretofore, a petition was filed with the Common Council

of the City of San Bernardino requesting that certain uninhabited territory
6
contiguous to said City be annexed to the City of San Bernardino, and which
7
said petition described said territory and the boundaries thereof proposed to
8
be annexed to the City; and
WHEREAS, said petition was filed by the owners of not less than
one-fourth of the area of land in such territory, and representing not less
than one-fourth of the assessed value of such territory according to the last
preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of San Bernardino, in
which said County the City of San Bernardino is situated; and
WHEREAS, said petition requested the said territory to be annexed

15!1 to and included in the,said municipal corporation in accordance with the

161 provisions of the Government Code, Section 35300, et seq.; and

17! WHEREAS, on the 31st day of May, 1966, a Resolution was adopted

by the aforesaid Common Council of the City of San Bernardino, California,
proposing the annexation of the aforesaid uninhabited territory, to be
generally known as ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 181, to the City of San Bernardino,
and that said Resolution provided therein that the proposed annexation
should be generally known and identified as ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 181; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution set forth therein that all the property
included in the aforesaid territory should be taxed equally with the other
property within the said City to pay the bonded indebtedness and any and all
general indebtedness and liability of the City of San Bernardino contracted
prior to or, existing or outstanding at the time of the aforesaid proposed
annexation of the aforesaid property as provided in the hereinbefore
mentioned Government Code; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution did fix, determine and declare that a
hearing be held on the 18th day of July, -~966; -"t:'the;,hour'oL9:30 o'clock
A. M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall in the City of San Bernardino,

1 and the same was the day, hour and place designated where any person owning
2 real estate within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any

3 objections to the proposed annexation might object before the Common Council
4 and show cause why such territory should not be annexed; and furthermore, the
5 said Resolution provided that at any time not later than the said hour set,
6 as mentioned hereinbefore for the said hearing, any owner of property within
7 the said territory proposed to be annexed might file written protest with
8 the City of San Bernardino against such annexation; and
9 WHEREAS, no written protests of any kind or nature whatsoever were

10 filed with the City Clerk of the City of San Bernardino prior to 9:30 o'clock
11 A. M. on the 18th day of July, 1966, and thereafter on the 18th day of
12 July, 1966, Resolution No. 8263 was adopted by the Mayor and Common Council
13 declaring that a majority protest has not been presented; and
14 WHEREAS, it appears to the Common Council of the City of San
15 Bernardino that the aforesaid annexation proceedings have been completed and
16 everything performed at this time in accordance with said Government Code,
17
as mentioned hereinbefore, and any and all other laws in any was connected
,.
18 with the said annexation procedure having been complied with; and
19 WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of San Bernardino desire
20 to approve at this time the annexation of the aforesaid territory.

21 NOW, THEREFORE, THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
22 SAN BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION ONE: That said territory herein described as Annexation
24 District No. 181 is hereby annexed and incorporated in and made a part of
25 the City of San Bernardino.

SECTION TWO: The territory herein referred to as being annexed to
27
the City of San Bernardino is particularly described as follows, to wit:

That portion of the Southeast one-quarter of Section 19,
Township 1 North, Range 3 West, San Bernardino Meridian;
those portions of Lot 3, Block-20; Lots 3, 4, 5 and 6,
Block 17; Lots 3, 4, 5 and 6, Block 16, and Lots 4, 5
and 6, Block 13, West Highlands as per plat thereof
recorded in Book 5 of Maps, page 77, records of the
County Recorder of San Bernardino Coun:t:y,$tate of
California"de$cribed as follows:

Beginning at a point on the Present Corporate Limits of
the City of San Bernardino, .said point being on the North
line of the Southeast one-quarter of said Section 19 and
being West thereon, 486.00 feet from the Northeast corner
of said Southeast one-quarter; thence South 00 04' East,
2195.00 feet to a point in the Northeasterly line of said
Lot 6, Block 17; thence West, 33.54 feet to the East line
of said Lot 5, Block 17; thence South 470 22' West along
the Southeasterly line of the property conveyed to John
D. Leedom, Jr., et ux, by Deed recorded November 25, 1957
in Book 4326, page 411, Official Records of said County,
a distance of 355.70 feet; thence South, 451.35 feet to
a point on the South line of said Lot 5, Block 17, which
point is 178.30 feet East of the Southwest corner thereof;
thence continuing South along the Southerly prolongation
of said last course, a distance of 41.25 feet to the
centerline of Marshall Boulevard; thence East along the
said centerline of Marshall Boulevard to a point which is
435.25 feet West of the Northerly prolongation of the
East line of said Lot 6, Block 16; thence South, parallel
with said East line to a point in the North line of said
Lot 6, Block 16; thence South 080 35' West, 917.78 feet
to a point in the South line of said Lot 5, Block 16,
which point is East thereon, 353.52 feet from the South-
west corner thereof; thence South, 41.25 feet to the
centerline of Lynwood Drive; thence East along said
centerline to the intersection with the centerline of
Victoria Avenue; thence South along the said centerline
of Victoria Avenue to its intersection with the centerline
of Citrus Street, 82.50 feet wide; thence West along the
centerline of said Citrus Street to the intersection of
the Southerly prolongation of the West line of said Lot 4,
Block 13; thence North along said Southerly prolongation

SECTION THREE: That the above described property will be subject
2 to taxation equally with the property within such municipal corporation to
3 pay its proportion of the following bonded indebtedness of the City of
4 San Bernardino, which said bonded indebtedness was outstanding or theretofore
5 authorized and is outstanding at the time of said annexation, to wit:
6 A bonded indebtedness of $490,000.00 incurred for the acquisition
7 and construction of a public library, including additions to and enlargements
8 of the public library system of said City, the outstanding indebtedness
9 thereon being $350,000.00, bearing interest at the rates of 4 3/4%, 3 1/4%
10 and 3 1/2% per annum;
11 A bonded indebt~dness of $1,116,000.00 incurred for the acquisition
12 and construction of additions to, relocations of and replacements of the

fire fighting system of said City, the outstanding indebtedness thereon
being $955,000.00, bearing interest at the rates of 4%, 3%, 2 1/2%, 2 3/4%
and 2.9% per annum.
SECTION FOUR: The property herein annexed is de1=ared to be a
part of Ward 4 and the boundaries of Ward 4 are hereby altered to include

said annexed territory.
The following property is placed and declared to be in C-l
Neighborhood Commercial Zone:
A portion of Lot 5, Block 16, Portion of West Highlands
described as follows; Beginning in the south line of
Lot 5, Block 16, 115 feet east of the southwest corner
of said Lot 5; thence north 472 feet; thence east 280
feet; thence southwesterly to a point in the south line
of said Lot 5, said point being 335 feet east of the
southwest corner of Lot 5; thence west 220 feet to the
point of beginning. Also portions of Lot 5 of Block 13,
described as follows: Beginning in the north line of
Lot 5 at a pO,int 11S feet 'east of the northwest corner
of Lot 5, Block 13; thence south 450 feet; thence east
160 feet; thence northeasterly to a point in the north
line of Lot 5, said point being 365 feet east of the
northwest corner of said Lot 5; th~nce west 250 feet

the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino at an adjourned
