ORDINANCE NO. 2934
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO PROVIDING FOR
THE FILING OF OFFICIAL BONDS AND DETERMINING THE AMOUNTS THEREOF;
PROVIDING FOR A BLANKET POSITION BOND FOR CITY EMPLOYEES; AND
REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 2027
THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE: The following officers of the City of San
7 Bernardino, before entering upon the discharge of their official
8 duties, and within twenty (20) days after notice of their election
9 or appointment, shall severally execute to said City an official
10 faithful performance bond in the following penal sums, to wit:

14 City Attorney, $1,0.0.0.. DO.
15 Each member of the Board of Water Commissioners, $1,0.0.0.;0.0..
16 City Treasurer, $10.0.,0.0.0.0.0..
17 The City Treasurer, in addition to his official bond in
18 the penal sum of $10.0. ,0.0.0. .0.0., shall execute to said City an addi-
19 tional bond in the penal sum of $25, DaD. Do.,' which additional bond
20 shall be known as the Treasurer's "Trust Fund Bond" and shall be
21 conditioned for the payment by said Treasurer to any person, firm
22 or corporation lawfully entitled thereto, of all moneys received
23 by said Treasurer, his deputies, clerks and attaches, under or
24 pursuant to the provisi'onsof the Improvement Act of 1911, or
25 any other special assessment, law or act,' by the 'provisions of
26 which moneys, other than moneys belonging to said City, are pay-
27 able to the City Treasurer of said City for disbursement to any
28 person, firm or corporation, other than said City, and which
29 "Trust Fund Bond" shall by its provisions be made to enure to
30 the benefit of, and provide that an action may be maintained
31 thereon by, any person, firm or corporation entitled to receive
32 money from said Treasurer under the aforesaid laws.

SECTION TWO: For each employee of the City of San Ber-
3 nardino, except employees in the Municipal Water Department, a
4 blanket position bond shall be provided, indemnifying said City
5 against any and all fraudulent or dishonest acts and failure of
6 performance of official duties, including false arrest by Police
7 Department employees and failure to account properly for any and
81 all monies or property received by virtue or authority of any
9 position or employment, of or by any employee, acting alone or
10 in collusion with others. Said bond shall comply with the
111 provisions of all other ordinances of the City applicable there-

121 to and shall be in the following amounts for the employment
13 indicated: Chief of Police, $5,000.00; Chief Deputy City
14 Treasurer, $90,000.00; Deputy City Treasurer, $20,000.00; Book-
15 keeper II - Treasurer's Office, $20,000.00; Supervising Cashier -
16 Treasurer's Office, $20,000.00; three Intermediate Cashiers -
17 Treasurer's Office, $20,000.00 each; City Administrator, $10,000.00
18 Director of Finance, $10,000.00; Purchasing Agent, $10,000.00; all
19 other individuals, $2,500.00 each. The word "employee" or "em-
20 ployees" as used in this ordinance shall mean and include those
21 officers, employees and other subordinates of said City who are
22 not otherwise required by ordinance or law to furnish an individual
23 bond to qualify for office or employment.

SECTION THREE: This ordinance shall take effect and be
25 operative on October 1, 1968.

SECTION FOUR: Ordinance No. 2027 is hereby repealed.
