WHEi1.EAS, pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the Legis-
ature of the State of California, known as the "Annexation Act
10 of 1913", and pursuant to Ordinance No. 1968 adopted by the
11 ~ayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino on the
12 ~ day Of~ AA L~ 1953, a special election was held
13 on the 18th day of FebruarY~953, in that certain inhabited
14
erritory contiguous to the City of San Bernardino designated as
15 "Annexation District Jio. 60" and which is hereinafter more parti-
16 cularly described; and

WHEREAS, at said special election the following question
submitted to the qualified electors residing in said terri-
ory:
SHALL ANNEXATION DISTlUCT ~\!O. 60 BE ANNEXED TO, INCORPOR-
IN AND r'lADE A PA3.T OF THE CITY OF SAN BE:1.NARDINO AND THE
ilOPERTY IN SUCH TER,UTORY BE, AFTER SUCH ANNEXATION, SUBJECT TO
EQUALLY iITTH THE PROPERTY ~~THIN THE CITY OF SAN BERNAR-
PAY ITS PRO-RATA PORTION, BASED UPON ASSESSED VALUATION
F ALL BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO OUT-
TANDING AT THE DATE OF THE FILING OF THE PETITION FOR ANNEXATION?

WHEREAS, it appears from the canvass of the returns of the
otes cast at said special election that a majority o~ all votes ~st
29 On said territory on the question of said annexation and the
30 .ssumption of said indebtedness favor annexation upon the terms
31 ontained in the question submitted; and
32 WHEREAS, it appears that said special election and all
1 proceedings relating thereto have been conducted strictly in
2 accordance with law;
3 NOW, THEREFORE, the Mayor and Common Council of the City
4 of San Bernardino do ordain as follows:

SECTION 1. That the annexation of that certain inhabited
6 territory contiguous to the City of San Bernardino designated as
7 "Annexation District No. 60" be and the same hereby is approved
8 upon the terms contained in the aforesaid question which was
9 submitted at the special election held on the 18th day of
10 February, 1953. Said Territory is Described as Follows:

BE(HNNING at a point in the present corporate limits
of the City of San Bernardino, said point being the
southeast corner of Lot 10, john Hancock Survey, as
per plat thereof recorded in Book 2 of Maps, at Page
1,2, records of the County Recordercof'San Bernardino
County; thence northerly along the east line of Lot
10 of said John Hancock Survey, being along the present
corporate limits of the City of San Bernardino, to
the north line of Section 23, Township 1 North, Range
4 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence
Easterly along the north line of Section 23, and the
north line of Section 24, TO'Imship 1 North, Hange 4
\'Iest, San Bernardino Base and IJIeridian, to the south-
west corner of Government Lot 2, of Seotion 13, Township
1 North, ?ange 4 VJest, San Bernardino Base and
Meridian; thence northerly along the west line of
said Government Lot 2 and the west line of the north-
east one-quarter (1/4) of the southwestcone-quarter
(1/4) of said Section 13, Township 1 North, .'~ange 4
i.Jest, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, to a point
1,615 feet north of the south line of said Section
13; thence easterly and parallel with the south line
of said Section 13 to the east line of the northeast
one-Quarter (l/lf) of the southwest one-quarter (1/4)
of said Section 13; thence southerly along the east
line of the northeast one-quarter (1/4) of the south-
west one-quarter (1/4) and the east line of Government
Lot 2, of said Section 13 and the southerly pro-
longation of the east line of Government Lot 2, of
said Section 13, Township 1 North, .i.ange 4 Aest ,
San Bernardino Base and Meridian, to a point 772.32
feet north of the westerly prolongation of the north
line of Foothill Drive; thence easterly and parallel
with the westerly prolongation of the north line of
Foothill Drive and the north line of Foothill Drive,
a distance of 663.22 feet; thence southerly and
parallel with the east line of Del Rosa Avenue to a
point 556. 15 feet north of the north line of Foothill
Drive; thence easterly and parallel with the north
line of Foothill Drive 55 feet to the northwest cor-
ner of Tract No. 3359, as per plat thereof recorded
in Book 44 of Maps, at Page 73, records of the County
Recorder of San Bernardino County; thence northerly

and parallel with the east line of Del Rosa Avenue
to a point 889.15 feet north of the center line of
Foothill Drive; thence easterly and parallel with the
- north line of said Tract No. 3359, to the northerly
prolongation of the east line of said Tract No. 3359;
thence southerly along the northerly prolongation of
the east line of said Tract No. 3359 and the east line
of said Tract No. 3359 to the north line of Foothill
Drive; thence westerly along the north line of Foot-
hill Drive and the westerly prolongation of the north
line of Foothill Drive to the west line of Del Rosa
Avenue; thence southerly along the west line of Del
Rosa Avenue to the north line of Eureka Street; thence
westerly along the north line of Eureka Street to the
east line of Mountain Avenue;, thenc~ ,northerly along
the east line of Mountain Avenue t6 xne north line of
Avery Street; thence westerly aTorigthe north line of
Avery Street to the centerline of Harrison Street;
thence southerly along the center line of Harrison
Street; 4D feet to a point in'the'present corporate
li~its of the City of San Bernardino; thence north
89 53' West, being along the present corporate limits
of the City of San Bernardino, 330..25 feet to the
point beginning.

SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this ordinance and cause the same to be published three conse-

cutive days in the San Bernardino Evening Telegram, a newspaper

of general circulation in the City of San Bernardino.
SECTION 3. The property herein annexed is declared to be a
24
part of Wa.rd 4, and the boundaries of said Ward 4 are hereby
altered to include said annexed territory; and said property is
placed and declared to be in Zone 1 under the Zoning Ordinance
and Regulation of this City.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was duly
passed and adopted by the r'iayor and Common Council of the City
of San Bernardino at a re~ular meeting thereof held on the I'~
