HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982ORDINANCE NO. 1982 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1763 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO LEVYING A SALES TAX, PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION THEREOF, AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF." THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDIN DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION ONE: Section Six of Ordinance No. 1763 entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO LEVYING A SALES TAX, PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION THEREOF, AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF," shall be amended to read as follows, to-wit: SECTION SIX: COLLECTION. That s~id tax hereby imposed shall be collected by the retailer or motion picture theatre, theatre, dance, boxing, wrestling and other athletic event, from the consumer in the manner and on the arW,~les'so to.collect one per cent (1%) of the total taxable sales. SECTION TWO: The passage of this Ordinance is an emergency matter and by reason thereof, it is hereby ordained that this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its 22 passage and approval by the Mayor and Common Council. 23 SECTION THREE: The City Clerk shall certify to the 24. passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published 2~ three consecutive times in the San Bernardino Evening Telegram, a 26 daily newspaper designated for that purpose. 27 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was duly 28 adopted by the Mayor and Common Coun~i~ of the City of San Bernar- 29 dino at a regular meeting thereof held on the I g~day of m~ 30 ;1.9-1'3, by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: K-~i/~/dJ~/~~/\~tv NOES: 'n-h'1.L- .
