HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998ORDINANCE NO. 1998 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1987, REGULATING THE OPERATION OF TAXI CABS AND CHAUFFEURED LIMOUSINES. The Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino do ordain as follows: Section 1: Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1987 is hereby amended by adding thereto a new paragraph reading as follows: "At or before the time the said petition is filed with the Bureau, the petitioner shall pay to the City Clerk a filing fee of $5.00, plus $2.00 for each vehicle proposed to be covered by the permit issued in response to said petition." SECTION 2: Section $ of Ordinance No. 19$7 is hereby amended by adding thereto a new paragraph reading as follows: "In the event of loss or destruction of any such license plate, a renewal license plate may be secured by payment to the City Clerk of a fee of $2.00 for each such license plate, but no such renewal plate shall be issued except upon application to the Bureau, and establishing by clear and satis- factory proof that the license plate being replaced has been lost or destroyed." SECTION 3: Section 22 of Ordinance No. 1987 is hereby amended as follows: Subdivision 1 of Paragraph (b) is hereby amended to read as follows: "Deposit with the City Clerk a fee of $6.00 for such permit, and secure a receipt therefor. The fee so deposited is to cover the expenses in- curred, and no refund shall be made for any reason." Paragraph (j) of said Section 22 is hereby amended to read as fol- lows: or transferllG "A renewal/driver's permit shall be issued by the Chief of Police ft."'" transfer or t:f.IIl" to any permittee ~fho has paid to the City Clerk the fee for such/renewal, being or transfer_ the sum of $3.00. Application for such renewaJj permit shall be made not less 30 31 32 than thirty days prior to the expiration of the existing driver's permit. Paragraph (h) of said Section 22 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Upon presentation to the Chief of Police of said driver's permit, -1- I~ - 1 properly executed, the Chief of Police shall issue to the applicant a nU1llbered 2 badge of distinctive design, bearing the expiration date thereof, and with the 3 words "Taxi Driver" thereon. In the event of loss or destruction of any such 4 badge, a renewal badge may be obtained by payment of a fee of $2.00 to the 5 City Clerk, and upon clear and satisfactory proof being established to the 6 Chief of Police of the loss or destruction of such badge." 7 8 SECTION 4: Ordinance No. 1809 is hereby repealed.
