HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004 - I~,. . .J 1 ORDIHANCE NO. ::2 8-0/-1 2 AN ORDllJANCE PERTAllJING TO DI!NOLITION OF WILDINGS AND STRUCTURES. 3 The Mayor and Connnon Council of the City of San Bernardino do 4 ordain as follows: 5 Section 1. Any person, firm or corporation desiring to demolish, 6 dismantle or tear down any house, building or structure within the City of 7 San Bernardino shall, before proceeding with such work, file an application 8 with the Chief Building Inspector for a permit to do so. The Chief Building 9 Inspector, if he finds that the granting of such permit is not contrary to 10 public health, safety and welfare, shall issue such permit; provided, how- 11 ever, that as a condition to the issuance of such permit the applicant shall 12 pay to the Chief fuilding Inspector the sum of $1.00, and deposit with him a 13 surety bard in the amount of $1,000.00 to insure the faithful performance by 14 the applicant of the following conditions on which such permit is granted, 15 namely: that upon the demolition, dismantling or tearing down of such house, 16 building or other structure, the lot, parcel or site shall be cleared of all 17 debris, brick, rock, cement work, foundations, weeds, brush, dead or uncared 18 for trees and vegetation, so that the premises are left in a clean and safe 19 condition. Any permit issued under this section shall be further conditioned 20 on completion of the work of demolition, dismantling, tearing down and c1ean- 21 ing of site within a period of ninety days from date thereof, but which 22 period may be extended by the Chief Building Inspector upon good cause shOwn, 23 for such additional period as may be reasonably required to carry out the 24 purposes of the permit. 25 Section 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the 26 provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon 27 conviction thereof shall be punished by fine not exceeding Five Hundred Dollarf I 28 ($500.00) or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding six (6) months, or by 29 both such fine and imprisonment. 30 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was duly adopted by "o/'-'~ 31 the Mayor and Conmon Council of the City of San Bernardino at a P8Ilu;).a:r meet- 32 ing thereof, held on the ' ? ,>~ day of /~ it.
