AN ORDINANCE OF THE crn OF SllN BERNARDn~O APPROVING THE ANNEXATIOO
TO THE CITY OF SAN BERNiL1IDINO OF CE..~TAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS
"ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 68", UPON THE TERMS CCNTAINED IN THE QUESTION SUB-
MITTED AT A SPECIAL ElECTION HELD IN SAID TERRITORY ON TIlE NINETEENTH DAY OF
JANUARY, 1954.

WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the Legislature
of the State of California, known as the "Annexation Act of 1913", and pur-
suant to Ordinance No. )... 009 . adopted by the Mayor and Common Council
of the City of San Bernardino on the /l/- tA: day of ID~~"'A /
1953., a special election l~as held on the 19th day of January, 1954, in that
certain inhabited territory contiguous to the City of San Bernardino desig-

nated as "Annexation District No. 68" and which is hereinafter more particu-
larly described; and
WHEREAS, at said special election the following question was sub-
mitted to the qualified electors residing in said territory:
SHAIL ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 68 BE ANNEXED TO, INCORPCRATED IN
AND MADE A PART CF TIlE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AND THE PROPERTY IN SUCH TERRI-
TORY BE, AFTER SUCH ANNEXATION, SUBJECT TO TAXATION EQUALLY "lITH THE PROPERTY
WITHIN TIrE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, TO PAY ITS PRO-RATA PORTION, BASED UPOO
ASSESSED VALUATION OF ALL BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
OUTSTANDTIW AT THE DATE OF THE FILING OF THE PETITION FOR AN~rfu{ATION?
WHEREAS, it appears from the canvass of the returns of the votes
cast at said special election that a majority of all votes cast in said terri-
tory on the question of said annexation and the aS5Ulllption of said indebted-
ness favor annexation upon the terms contained in the question submitted; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said special election and all proceedings
relating thereto have been conducted strictly in accordance with law;
Nav, THEREFORE, the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
Bernardino do ordain as follows:
SECTION ONE: That the annexation of that certain inhabited terri-
30 tory contiguous to the City of San Bernardino designated as "Annexation Dis-
31 trict No. 68" be and the same is hereby approved upon the terms contained in
32 the aforesaid question which was submitted at the special election held on the
19th day of January, 1954. Said territory is described as follows:

All of Lot 21 and portions of Lots 20, 22 and 23, Block 45,

RANCHO SAN BERNARDJNO, as per plat thereof recorded in Book 7
of Maps, Page 2, records of the County Recorder of San Ber-
nardino County, described as follows:

BEGINNING at a point in the present corporate limits of the
City of San Bernardino, said point being 20.00 feet north of
the center line of Cardiff Avenue and 485.50 feet east of the
center line of Waterman Avenue; thence easterly along a line
parallel to the center line of Cardiff Avenue to a point on
the northerly prolongation of the east line of the west one-
half (~) of Lot 20, Block 45, RANCHO SAN BERNARDINO, as per
plat thereof recorded in Book 7 of Maps, Page 2, records of
the County Recorder of San Bernardino County; thence southerly
along said east line to the south line of Lot 20; thence westerly
along the south line of Lot 20 and Lot 21 to a point on the
present corporate limits of the City of San Bernardino, said
point being on the center line of Waterman Avenue; thence
northerly along the center line of Waterman Avenue, being
along the present corporate limits of the City of San Bernardino,
to a point 20,00 feet north of the center line of Cardiff Ave-
nue; . thence easterly along a line parallel to the center line
of Cardiff Avenue, being along the present corporate limits of
the City of San Bernardino, 485.50 feet to the point of begin-
ning.

SECTION TVIO: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
ordinance and cause the same to be published three consecutive days in the San
Bernardino Evening Telegram, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of
San Bernardino.
SECTION THREE: The property herein annexed is declared to be a
said annexed terribor,r; and said property is placed and declared to be in
Zone M-l under the Zoning Ordinance and Regulations of this City.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was duly adopted by
