OF SAIf E1ERJfARDINO PROVIDING FOR FILING OF OFFICIAL BOlIDS AND
3 DETERMINING 'l'HE AMOUNT THEREOF, PROVIDING FOR A BLAlIKE'l' POSITION
BOND FOR CITY EMPLOYEES, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE :JO. 2000.

'l'HE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERl{ARDIIO
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 00: The 1'ollowing o1't'1cers or the City or San
Bernardino, be1'ore entering upon the discharge or their o1'1'icial
duties, and within twenty days artsI' notice ot their election or
appointment, shall severally execute to said City an o1'ticia1
faithful performance bond in the 1'ollowing penal sums, to-wit:
Mayor, $1,000.00
Each member of the Common Council, $1,000.00
City Clerk, $1,000.00
City Attorney, $1,000.00
Each member or the Board or .a tel'
COmmissioners, $1,000.00
City Treasurer, $75,000.00
The City Treasurer, in addition to his otficial bond in
the penal sum or $75,000.00, shall execute to said City an addi-
tional bond in the penal sum or .25,000.00, whioh additional
bond shall be known as the treasurer's "Trust Fund Bond", and
shall be conditioned tor the payment by said Treasurer to any
person, 1'irm or corporation lawfUlly entitled thereto, or all

24 moneys received by said Treasurer, his deputies, olerks and
25 attaohes, under or pursuant to the provisions or the IlIprovement
26 Act or 1911, or any other special assessment or other acts, by
27 the providons or which IIOneys, other than IIOneys belonging to
28 said Cit'7, are payable to the City Treasurer or said City1'or
29 disbursement to any person, firm or oorporation, other than said
30 City, and whioh "Trust Fund Bond" shall by its providons be made
31 to enure to the benefit or, and provide that an aotion may be
32 maintained thereon by 81'X1 person, firm or corporation entitled to

SEOTION TWO: On all employees ot the City of San Bernardino,
except those in the Municipal Water Department, a blanket position
bond shall be provided, indemnifying the said City against any and
all traudulent or dishoDest acts, tailure ot perto~ce ot
6 otticial duties, including talse arrest by Police Department
employees, tailure to account properly for any and all IIIOneys o~
property received by virtue ot any position or employment; ot or
by any employee, acting alone or in collusion with others, said
bond to comply with the provisions ot all other Ordinances ot the
City applicable thereto, and to be in the tollowing &IIOunt. tOI'
the employment indicated: Chiet ot Police, ~,OOO.OO: Chiet
Deputy City Treasurer, $25,000.00; Deputy City Treasurer,
$10,000.00: Intermediate Cashier - Treasurer's Ottice, $10,000.00:
Inte~diate Cashier - City Ball; ~,OOO.OO; Adainistrative ot-
16 ticer, $10,000.00: all others, $2,500.00 each. The word -em-
plo,.ee- or -employees" as used in this ordinance shall mean and
include those officers, employees and other subordinates ot the

20 an individual bond to qualify for ottice or employment.
21 SECTIOI' THREE: That Ordinance No. 2000 is hereby repealed.
22 SECTIOI' FOUR: This Ordinance is tor the illllll8dlate preser-
23 vat ion or the public peace, health and safety, in that it pro-
24 vides for a larger indemnity than exists under current 1,. etrective
215 individual bonds, and which larger indemnit,. the Mayor and. Common
26 Council find is urgently required as a protection or C1t,. moneys
27 and property, and shall theretore beoome ettective i_ediate17
28 upon its adoption and publication.
29 SECTION FIVE: The City Clerk shall certify to the pa88age
30 or this OrdililNlce and shall cause the same to be published three
31 (3) consecutive tim.. in the San Bernardino Evenint; Telegram, a
3a dai17 newspaper hereby designated tor that purpose.
