AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 1991 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO

5 BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND; THE HEIGHT, NUMBER OF STORIES AND
6 SIZE OF BUILDINGS AND OTHER STRUCTURES; THE SIZE OF YARDS AND OTHER
7. OPEN SPACES; THE DENSITY OF POPULATION AND INTENSITY OF THE USE OF
8 LAND; ,ADOPTING A MAP OF SAID LAND USE ZONING DISTRICTS; PROVIDING
9 . FOR AMENDMENTS, VARIANCES, CONDITIONAL DEVELOP?1ENT PERMITS, AND
10 THE ENFORCEMENT OF ITS PROVISION; PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR VIOLA-
11 TIONS THEREOF; AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 167, AND AMENDMENTS
12 THERETO."
13 THE MAYOR AND COM~ION COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO
14 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
15 SECTION ONE: Section 21.4 D of Ordinance No. 1991 entitled
16 · AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ESTABLISHING LAND USE
17 ZONING DISTRICTS TO REGULATE: THE USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES
18 AND LAND; THE HEIGHT, NUMBER OF STORIES AND SIZE OF BUILDINGS AND
19 OTHER STRUCTURES; THE SIZE OF YARDS AND OTHER OPEN SPACES; THE
20 DENSITY OF POPULATION AND INTENSITY OF THE USE OF LAND; ADOPTING
21 A MAP OF SAID LAND USE ZONING DISTRICTS; PROVIDING FOR AMENDMENTS,
22 VARIANCES, CONDITIONAL DEVELOPMENT PERMITS, AND THE ENFORCEMENT OF
23 ITS PROVISION; PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF; AND
24 REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1675 AND AMENDMENTS THERETO," shall be
25 amended to read as follows, to-wit:

SECTION 21.4 PROJECTION INTO YARDS:
D. In residential districts, open, unenclosed or covered
28 porches supported entirely from the building may extend into
29 the front or rear yard not to exceed six (6) feet. In other

than residential districts a canopy or marquee supported
entirely from the building may extend out to the front or
32
rear property lines; further, where no front or rear yard is

1 required, a marquee may be built to two-thirds (2/3) or eight
2 (8) feet of the distanoe between the front property line and
3 the ourb line, whichever is the lesser at eight (8) feet in
4 height, and may go to within two (2) feet of the ourb line
5 ~t twelve (12) feet in height providing the projeotion is no
6 more than eight (8) feet.
7 SECTION TWO: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
8 this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published three oon-
9 seoutive times in the San Bernardino Evening Telegram, a daily
10 newspaper designated for that purpose.
11 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinanoe was duly adopted
12 b!. the Mayor and Common Counoil of the City of San Bernardino at a
13 regular meeting thereof held on the /.0Hday of August, 1954, by
14 the following vote, to-wit:
