1 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES FOR THE CURRE~!T
YEAR UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO,
2 IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A REVENUE TO C./ffiRY ON THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS
OF SAID CITY, AND TO PAY TEIE BONDED lIND OTPER nmEBTEDNESS THEREOF.

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
DO ORDAIN AS F~LLOWS:
SECTION ONE: That there is hereby levied for the present
fiscal year, beginning July 1, 1951+, and ending June 30, 1955,
on all property wi thtn the corpora.te 11mi ts of the City of San
Bernardino, a property tax of $ 1.35 upon eEl.ch one hundred dollars
using as a basis the value of such property as assessed by the
County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino, as the same may
be equalized, and returned as herein provided, and the tax so
levied and to be collected is hereby appropriated as follows:

SECTION TWO: Thet there is also hereby levied for said

fiscal year upon all property within the corporete limits of the

City of San Bernardino a special tax of $.2?67 on each one

assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino,
as the same may be equalized, and returned as herein provided,
. which tax so levied, and to be collected, shall be epplied to the
payment of the obligations of the City of San Bernardino to the

SECTION THREE: That tb~re is also hereby levied for

4 and to become due, or to accrue during said fiscal year.

SECTION FOUR: That there is also herety levied for said
6 fiscal year upon all property within the corporate limits of the
7 City of San Bernardino, a special tax of $ .0354
on each one
8 hundred dollars, using as a basis the value of such property as
9 assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino,
10 as the same may be equalized, and returned as herein provided,
11 which tax so levied, and to be collected, shall be applied to
12 the payment of the principal and interest on the Outfell Sewer
13 Bonds due or to become due, or to accrue during said fiscal year.

SECTION FIVE: The taxes and special assessment tax hereby
I levied shall be collected at the same time and in the same manner
I as State and County taxes, and when collected, shall be paid to

, the Treasurer of the City of San Bernardino.
SECTION SIX: The respective amounts hereinbefore designate
as being the amount of taxes levied on each one hundred dollars
of the assessed valuation of the property hereinbefore referred
to are hereby fixed as the respective rates of the tax for said
fis cal ye ar for the purposes hereinbefore designated, which said
rates are fixed and designated in the number of cents upon each
one hundred dollars, using ss a basis the value of said property
as assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino,
as the same may be equalized and returned to said Common Council
by the County Auditor of seid County, as required by Section 3 of
the Acts of the Legislature hereinafter referred to.

SECTION SEVEN:
The City Clerk is hereby directed to

SECTION EIGHT: It is hereby found and determined and
2 declared that this Ordinance is urgently required for the
3 immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety,
4 in that this Ordinance is adopted pursuant to the provisions of
5 Section 131 of the Charter of said City, and an Act of the
6 Legislature of the State of California, approved March 27, 1895,
7 therein referred to, by the provisions of which Act this Ordinance
8 must take effect before the last Tuesday in August, 1954, in order
9 to levy a valid tax for the purposes aforesaid, and without which
10 Ordinance and tax there will be no revenue or funds to defrsy the
11 expenses of said City.

SECTION NINE: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
13 of this Ordinance by a two-thirds vote of the Common Couneil, and
14 cause the 1:'B-me to be published in the SAN BERNARDINO EVENING T$LE-
15 GRAM, a daily newspaper published and circulated in the City of
16 San Bernardino, for three consecutive days.

SECTION ~T: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
18 force immediately after its passage and approval.
19 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the whole number of members of the
I
20 Common Council of the City of San Bernardino is five, and that the
foregoing Ordinance waa adopted by the Common Council at a regular
22 meeting thereof held on the C:<,gdday of a.~..L423-, 1954, by
