3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO CAlLING A SPECIAL ELF.CrION
TO BE HEW ON THE SEVENTEENl'H DAY OF JULY, 1956, PERTAINING TO THE ANNEXATION
4 OF A DISTRICf CAUJ:D:
5 -ANNEXATION DISTRICf NO. 92-
6 WHEREAS, by resolution, the Mayor and Common Council of the City of
7 San Bernardino declared its intention to call a special election to be held on
8 the seventeenth day of July, 1956, in certain inhabited territory contiguous to
9 said City proposed to be annexed to said City, for the purpose of submitting to
10 the qualified electors residing in said territory the question whether or not
11 said territoly shall be annexed to said City; and
12 WHEREAS, a copy of said resolution was published as required by law;
13 and
14 WHEREAS, at the said meeting of the Common Council on the 7th day of
15 May, 1956, Mr. M. R. and Helen Kreutzer, Mr. Charles Robert and Doris J. Bromilow
16 Mr. A. L. and Irene A. Peyton, and Mr. Lloyd I, and Gladys I. Stevens filed
17 written objections to said annexation, and .hereas, the Common Council heard and
18 considered said protests and found that the same were not made by owners of one-
19 half of the value of the territory as shown by the last equalized assessment
20 roll, and, therefore overruled said protests; and
21 WHEREAS, all proceedings have been had in accordance with said resolu-
22 tion and the Annexation Act of 1913, reference thereto hereby being made for

NOW, THEREFORE, the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernar-'

SEcrION ONE: A special election hereby is called to be held on the
17th day of July, 1956, in the territory hereinafter described and proposed to

be annexed to the City of San Bernardino, for the purpose of submitting to the
qualified electors residing in said territory the question whether or not such
territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in, and made a part of said City of
San Bernardino, and whether or not the propertY in said territory shall, after
such annexation, be subject to taxation, equally with the property within the

2 Said territory is described as follows:
3 All those portions of Sections 13 and 24, Township 1 North Range 4 West
San Bernardino Meridian, and those portions of Lots 1, 3, 5, 6 and Reservoir Lot
4 of the S. W. Little Tract, as per plat recor~ed in Book 9 of Maps at page 12,
Records of tbe County Recorder of San Bernardino County, described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the present corporate limits of the city of
San Bernardino, said point being on the North line of Foothill Drive,
66 feet wide, as delineated on said map of the S. W. Little Tract, and
said point being on the East line of Tract No. 3359, as per plat re-
corded in Book 44 of Maps at page 73, Records of the County Recorder
of San Bernardino County; thence Northerly along the East line of said
Tract No. 3359 and Northerly prolongation of the East line of said
Tract No. 3359, being along the present corporate limits of said City
to a point 669.73 feet North of the center line of said Foothill
Drive; thence Westerly and parallel to the North line of said Tract
No. 3359, being along the present corporate limits of said City, to a
point on a line which is Northerly from the Northwest corner of said
Tract No. 3359, said line being parallel to the East line of Del Rosa
Avenue, 82.50 feet wide, as delineated on said map of the S. W. Little
Tract; thence Southerly and parallel to the East line of said Del Rosa
Avenue, being along the present corporate limits of said City, to the
Northwest corner of said Tract No. 3359; thence Westerly and parallel
to the North of said Foothill Drive, being along the present corporate
limits of said City, 55 feet; thence Northerly and parallel to the
East line of Del Rosa Avenue, being along'the present corporate limits
of said City, to a point 772.32 feet North of the North line of said
Foothill Drive; thence Westerly and parallel to the North line of said
Foothill Drive, being along the present corporate limits of said City,
to a point 267.50 feet East of the center line of said Del Rosa Avenue;
thence Northerly and parallel to the center line of said Del Rosa
Avenue, being along the present corporate limits of said City, to the
North line of Echo Drive, 40 feet wide, as per deed recorded December
29, 1933, in Book 934 at page 16, Official Records of the County Re-
corder of San Bernardino County; thence Easterly along the North line
of said Echo Drive, being along the present corporate limits of said
City, to a point lying North 88039' West, 330.33 feet from the inter-
section of the East line of Lot 6 of said S. W. Little Tract and the
North line of said Echo Drive; thence North 30 42' 30" West, being
along the present corporate limits of said City, 255.66 feet; thence
Westerly through a point on the Northerly prolongation of the East
.line of said Del Rosa Avenue which is 247.81 feet North of the North
line of said Echo Drive, being along the present corporate limits
of said City, to the Southerly prolongation of the East line of
Government Lot 2, Section 13, Township I, North, Range 4 West, San
Bernardino Meridian; thence Northerly along the Southerly prolongation
of the East line of said Government Lot 2, the East line of said
Government Lot 2, and the East line of the Northeast one-quarter of
the Southwest one-quarter of said Section 13, being along the present
corporate limits of said City, to a point 1,615 feet North of the
South line of said Section 13; thence Northerly along the East line
of the Northeast one-quarter of the S. W.,one-quarter of said Section
13, to the North line of the South one- half of the Northwest one-
quarter of the Southeast one-quarter of said Section 13; thence Easter-
ly along the NQrth line of the South one- half of the Northwest one-

The basis of bearing is the North line of said Echo Drive being North

SECTION TI<<): TIME OF OPENING AND CLOSING OF POUS. The polls at said
election shall be opened at 7 o'clock A. M. of the day herein fixed for the hold
ing of said election and shall be kept open until 7 o'clock P. M. of the same
day, when. the polls shall be closed.
SECTION THREE: BALLOTS. Upon the ballots to be used at said election
there shall be printed the words:
SHAll. ANNEXATION DISTRICI NO. 92 BE ANNEXED TO, INCORPORATED IN AND
MADE A PART OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AND THE PROPERTY IN SUCH TERRITORY BE,
AFTER SUCH ANNEXATION, SUBJECT TO TAXATION EQUALLY WITH THE PROPERTY WITHIN THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, TO PAY ITS PRO-RATA PORTION, BASED UPON ASSESSED VAIlJA-
TION OF ALL BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF THE. CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO OUTSTANDING AT THE
DATE OF THE flUNG OF THE PEl'ITION FOR ANNEXATION?
Opposite these words there shall be printed the words "Yes" and "No,"
and to the right of each of these last two words there shall be a voting square.
If an elector shall stamp a cross (~) in the voting square after the printed
word "Yes" the vote of such elector shall be counted in favor of the annexation
of said territory to the City of San Bernardino, and if an elector shall stamp
a cross (-f-) in the voting square after the'printed wo~ "No" the vote of such
elector shall be counted against such annexation.
In all particulars not herein recited said election shall be held in
conformity, as near as may be, with the laws of the State of California concern-
ing general elections and with said Annexation Act of 1913.

SEerION FOUR: For purpose of said election there hereby is established
a in the territory described herein one (1) voting precinct, which shall include

SEcrION FIVE: This ordinance shall take effect upon its publication. '
SECTION SIX: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
14 of this ordinance by the Council of the City of San Bernardino and shall cause
15 the same to be published three consecutive days in the San Bernardino Evening
16 Telegram, a daily newspaper of general circulation printed and published within
1'1 the City of San Bernardino, and once a week for four (4) weeks prior to the date
18 of the election in the Colton Daily Courier, a newspaper of general circulation
19 printed and published outside of the City of San Bernardino but in the County of
20 San Bernardino, California, which said ordinance shall be preceded ~y the words
21 "Notice of Election," and that due publication of this ordinance as herein pro-
22 ,vided is hereby determined to be sufficient notice of said election, and the
23 ! only notice that shall be required to be given.

25 Idopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino at a regular
