HomeMy WebLinkAbout2122 10 . .. . ~ .. . 1 ORDINANCE NO.';</~ ~ 2 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1983 OF tHE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO Nl ICH REGULATES ENCROACHMENTS, OBSTRUSTlONS AND 3 THE CLOSING OF STREETS OR PORTIONS OF STREETS w~THIN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO. 4 5 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO 6 00 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 7 SECTION ONE: That Ordinance No. 1983, Section Two, of the 8 City of San Bernardino is hereby amended by adding thereto a new 9 sub-section entitled sub-section (h) as follows: (h) The Street Superintendent may issue Emergency Vehicle 11 Parking Permits for the parking of' emergency vehicles subject to 12 the following conditions. 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 1. Permits may 1;l.e issued only for v.ehicles with commercial licenses owned by persons or firms with a current San Ber- nardino Business License. . Permitssh,all be issued only , to persons or firms engaged in a .type of business which performs emergency service and repair work of such nature that damage to property, hazard to health and safety might result if such emergency work were not done. 2. . The applicant for an Emergency Vehicle Parking Permit snaIl submit a written applicatiol!! to the Street Super- intendent stating their name and addr.esB, the type of business, the number of their business license, and the make and license number of the vehicle for which the Emergency Vehicle Parkingpe'rmit is desired together with the fee. 3. Fees for Emergency Vehicle Parking Permits shall be as follows: Minimum Period Six Months Twelve Months One Vehicle. Holders of Emergency Vehicle Parking Permits may ob- tain meter signs reading "Reserved for Emergency Vehicles" by depositing the sum of Four ($4.00) Dollars with the Street Superintendent. Meter s1gns shall be returned to the Office of the Street Superintendent immediately and in goOd condi Hon on the expir at ion of the Emer gency Vehicle Parking ,Permit. No refund will be made for any sign damaged beyond repair. A claim must be filed to obtain the return of the deposit. 5. Vehicles covered by Emergency Vehicle Parking Permits shall be cited for metered parking violations in the same manner as other vehicles. ' Any citations for metEl1'ed parking violations will be forwarded to the Office ~f.he Street Superintendent, who shan attach a certification giving the number of the Emergency Vehicle Parking Permit and forward the citation to the Chief of Police who shall .
