I 27 '~ 28 ! 29 I i 30 i I I 31 : I I 32 I , ,//fl/ 1 ORDINANCE NO. :; ~/ 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF DISTRICT NO. 143. 3 4 WHEREAS, heretofore, proceedings were initiated by the Common Council 5 of the City of San Bernardino, on its own motion, to annex to the City of San 6 Bernardino certain contiguous uninhabited territory hereinafter described; and 7 i WHEREAS, on the 21st day of May, 1962, a resolution was adopted by 8 i the aforesaid Common Council of the City of San Bernardino, California, declaring that proceedings had been initiated by said Council and proposing the annexation for the reasons therein stated of the aforementioned uninhabited territory, to be generally known as Annexation District No. 143 to the City of San Bernardino, and that said resolution provided that the proposed annexation should be generally known and identified as Annexation District No. 143; and WHEREAS, said resolution set forth therein that all the property included in the aforesaid territory should be taxed equally with the other property within the said City to pay the bonded indebtedness and any and all general indebtedness and liability of the City of San Bernardino contracted prior to or existing or outstanding at the time of the aforesaid proposed annexation of the aforesaid property as provided in the hereinbefore mentioned Government Code; and WHEREAS, said resolution did fix, determine and declare that a hearing be held on the 2nd day of July, 1962, at the hour of 9:30 o'clock A. M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall in the City of San Bernardino, and the same was the day, hour and place designated where any person owning real estate within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed annexation might object before the Common Council and show cause why such territory should not be annexed, and furthermore, the said resolution provided that at any time not later than the said hour set, as mentioned herein- before for the said hearing, any owner of property within the said territory proposed to be annexed might file written protest with the City of San Bernardino against such annexation; and WHEREAS, no written protests of any kind or nature whatsoever were 11 I' i. 12 I' 13 ii 14 Ii ii " 15 i, , I, 16 )i " :: 17 18 Ii I, 19 I! M. on the 2nd day of July, 1962; and 3 WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of July, 1962, the date set for the hearing of 4 protests against the proposed annexation, Resolution No. 6421 was adopted by 5 the Common Council of the City of San Bernardino declaring that a majority of 6 protests has not beep.,p~eaenli~d~L'.nd 711 WHEREAS, it appears to the Common Council of the City of San Bernardino 8 II that the aforesaid annexation proceedings have been completed and everything " 91, performed at this time in accordance with said Government Code, as mentioned 10 I, hereinbefore, and any and all other laws in any way connected with the said " Ii annexation procedure having been complied with; and WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of San Bernardino desire to approve at this time the annexation of the aforesaid territory. NOW, THEREFORE, THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION ONE: That said territory herein described as Annexation District No. 143 is hereby annexed and incorporated in and made a part of the City of San Bernardino. SECTION TWO: The territory herein referred to as being annexed to the City of San Bernardino is particularly described as follows, to wit: All of Lots 1, 2, 3, 13, 14 and those portions of Lots 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, Block 45; all of Lots 2, 3, 13 and 14, Block 46; all of Lots 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and those portions of Lots 1, 2, 3, Block 47; all of Blocks 48 and 49; those portions of Lots 1, 2, 3, Block 50; all of Block 67; all of Lots 3, 4 and those portions of Lots 1 and 2, Block 68; those portions of Lots 5, 6, 7, Block 70, Rancho San Bernar- dino as per plat thereof recorded in Book 7 of Maps, Page 2, records of San Bernardino County, State of California; all of Tract 2132, Valmont Acres, as per plat recorded in Book 31 of Maps, Page 18, records of said County; all of Tract 2509 as per plat recorded in Book 36 of Maps, Page 6, records of said County; all of Busch's Subdivision No. 1 as per plat recorded in Book 21 of Maps, Page 23, records of said County; all of Busch's Subdivision No. 2 as per plat recorded in Book 21 of Maps, Page 26, records of said County; all of Lots 14, 15, 16 and that portion of Lot 13, Ida Stockton Five Acre Subdivision as per plat recorded in Book 19 of Maps, Page 57, records of said County; and that portion of Section 8, Township 1 South, Range 3 West San Bernardino Base and Meridian as shown on the U. S.
