AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF DISTRICT NO. 146.

WHEREAS, heretofore a petition was filed with the Common
Council of the City of San Bernqrdino requesting that certain
uninhabited territory contiguous to said City be annexed to the
City of San Bernardino, and which said petition described said
territory and the boundaries thereof proposed to be annexed to
the City; and
\VHEREAS, said petition was filed by the owner of not less
than one-fourth of the area of land in such territory and
representing not less than one-fourth of the assessed value of
such territory according to the last preceding equalized assess-
ment roll of the County of San Bernardino, in which said County
and City of San Bernardino is situated; and
WHEREAS, said petition requested the said territory to be
annexed to and included in the said municipal corporation in
accordance with the provisions of the Government Code, Section
35300, et seq.; and
WHEREAS, on the 6th day of August, 1962, a resolution was
adopted by the aforesaid Common Council of the City of San
Bernardino, California, proposing the annexation of the aforesaid
uninhabited territory, to be generally known as ANNEXATION
DISTRICT NO. 146, to the City of San Bernardino and that said
resolution provided therein that the proposed annexation should
be generally known and identified as ANNEX~TION DISTRICT NO. 146;
and
WHEREAS, said resolution set forth therein that all the
property included in the aforesaid territory should be taxed
equally with the other property within the said City to pay the
banned in~ebtedness and any and all general indebtedness and
liability of the City of San Bernardino contracted prior to or
existing or outstanding at the time of the aforesaid proposed

WHEREAS, said resolution did fix, determine and declare that
a hearing be held on the 17th day of September, 1962, at the hour
of 9:30 o'clock A.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall in
the City of San Bernardino, and the same was the day, hour and

place designated where any person owning real estate within such

territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections to
the proposed annexation might object before the Common Council and
9
show cause why such territory Should not be annexed; and, further-
more, the said resolution provided that at any time not later than
the said hour set, as mentioned hereinbefore for the said hearing,
any owner of property within the said territory proposed to be
annexed might file written protest with the City of San Bernardino
against such annexation; and
WHEREAS, no written protests of any kind or nature whatsoever
were filed with the City Clerk of the City of San Bernardino
prior to 9:30 o'clock ~.M. on the 17th day of September, 1962;
and thereafter on September 17, 1962, Resolution No. 6501 was
adopted by the Mayor and Common Council declaring that a majority
protest hf',s not been presented; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Common Council of the City of
San Bernardino that the aforesaid annexation proceedings have
been completed and everything performed at this time in accordance
with said Government Code, as mentioned hereinbefore, and any and
all other laws in any Nay connected with the said annexation
having been complied with; and
l~HEREAS, the Common Council of the City of San Bernardino
desire to approve at this time the annexation of the aforesaid
territory.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE: That said territory herein described as
Annexation District No. 146 is hereby annexed and incorporated
in and made a part of the City of San Bernardino.
SECTION TWO: The territory herein referred to as being
annexed to the City of San Bernardino is particularly described
as follows, to-wit:
A portion of Lots 4 and 7 and all of Lots 5 and 6, Block 45,
and a portion of Lots 8 and 9, Block 46, and all of Lot 41,
Block 54, of the Rancho San Bernardino as per plat thereof
recorded in Book 7 of Maps, Page 2, records of the County
Recorder of San Bernardino County, State of California,
described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the present corporate limits of
the City of San Bernardino, said point being the intersection
of the centerline of Mill Street, 82.50 feet wide, with the
Northerly prolongation of the '-Tes t line of said Lot 41;
thence Southerly along said Northerly prolong'J,tion ann l~Test
line of said Lot 41, to the Southwest corner thereof; thence
Easterly along the South line of said Lot 41 to the South-
