HomeMy WebLinkAbout25211 ORDINANCE N0~ ' -, ~ 2 AN OADINANCE FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES FOR THE CURRENT YEAA OPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OE SAN BEANARDINO, IN 3 ORDER TO PHOVIDE A REVENUE TO CARRY ON THE VARIOIIS DEPpRTMENTS OF SAID CITY, AND TO PAY THE BONDED AND OTHER INDEBTEDNESS THEBEOF, 4 5~~ THE MAYOA AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 5AN BERNARDINO DO 6 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 7 SECTION ONE: That there is hereby levied for the present g fiscal year, beginning July l st, 1963 and ending June 30th, 1964, 9 on all property within the co rporate limits of the City of San 10 Bernardino, a proper~y tax of $1.2306 upon each one hundred dollar; 11 using as a basis the value of such property as assessed by the 12 Caunty Assessor of the County of San Bernardino, as the same may 13 be equalized, and returned as herein provided, and the tax so 14 levied and to be collected is hereby appropriated as follows: 15 General Fund $ ,1632 16 Street Fund $ ,5313 17 Library Fund $ ,1756 lg Park Improvement Fund $ ,3605 19 SECTION TWO: That there is also hereby levied for said fiscal 20 year upon all property within the cosporate limits of the City 21 of San Bernardino a special t ax of $,3201 on each one hundred z2 dollars, using as a basis the value of such property as assessed 23 by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino, as the same Zq may be equalized, and retutned as herein provided, which tax leviec Zg and to be collected, shall be applied to the payment of the obli- 26 gations of the City of San Bernardino to the State Employees' ~ Aetirement Systeme 28 SECTION THREEe That there is also hereby levied for said 29 fiscal year upon all prop erty within th e corporate limits of the 30 City of San Bernardino a speci al tax of $,0218 on each one hundred 31 dollarsg using as a basis the value of such property as assessed 32 by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino, as the same 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 li 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 2S 29 30 31 32 be equalized, and returned as herein provided, which tax so levied andaLbecollected, shall be applied to the payment of the princi- pal and interest on the Library Bonds due and to become due, or to accrue during said fiscal year, SECTION FOUR: That there is also hereby levied for said fiscal year upon all property Within the corporate li~its of the City of San Bernardino, a special tax of $,0474 on each one hundred dollars using as a basis the value of such property as assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino, as the same be equalized, and returned as herein provided, which tax so levied, and to be collected, shall be applied to the payment of the prin- cipal and interest on the Fire System Bonds, 1962, Interest and Redemption Fund, due and to become due, or to accrue during the said fiscal yearo SECTION FIVE: That taxes and special assessment tax hereby levied shall be collected at Lhe same time and in the same manner as State and County Taxes, and when collected, shall be paid to the Treasurer of the City of San Bernardino, SECTION SIX: The respective a~ounts hereinbefore designated as being the amount of taxes levied on each one hundred dollars of the assessed valuation of the property hereinbefore referred to are hereby fixed as the respective rates of the tax for said fiscal year for the purposes hereinbefore designated, which said rates are fixed and designated in the number of cents upon each one hundred dollars, using as a basis the value of said property as assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino as the sa~e may be equalized and returned to said Common Council by the County Auditor of said County, as required by Section 3 of the qcts of the Legislature hereinafter referred too SECTION SEVENa The City Clerk is hereby dizected to immed~ iately transmit to the County Auditor of the County of San Bernar- dino a certified copy of this Ordinance, 11 2i i 3i 4; 5 6 7I I 8~ 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 I 18 19 ~ 21 2z 23 24 25 ~C ?.6 27 28 29 30 31 32 SECTION EIGHT: It is hereby found and determined and de- clared that this Ordinance is urgently required for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, in that this Ordinance is adopted pursuant to the provisions of 3ection 131 of the Charter of said Cityp and an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, Statutes 1913 and subsequent amendment, by the provisions of which Act this Ordinance must take effect before the first day of September, 1963, in order to levy any valid tax for ~uaicipal purposes, without which Ordinance and tax there will be insufficient revenues or funds on hand to defray the expenses of said Cit~.
