NANCE N0, 2278 ENTITLED IN PART 11AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE DIS-
2 CHARGE OF WATERS AND WASTES ,"; AND REGULATING THE USE OF
THE SEWERAGE FACILITIES OF SAID CITY BY PERSONS AND FIRMS PUMPING
3 AND CLEANING SEPTIC TANKS, CESSPOOLS, CHEMICAL TOILETS, AND SEW-
ERAGE SEEPAGE PITS.

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
5 DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
6 SECTION ONE: Ordinance No. 2278 Section 131 is hereby
7 amended to read as follows:
g Section 131.
g A, Nothing in this Article shall be construed as lessen-
to ing the applicability of other requirements of this Ordinance.
ii B. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, partnership
12 or corporation to dispose or discharge any cleanings, waste,
13 chemicals, water or sewage pumped or cleaned from any septic
14 tank, cesspool, chemical toilet and sewerage seepage pit, at or
15 into any public sanitary sewer plant, connection, manhole, open-
16 ing or place, other than the City of San Bernardino Sewerage
i~ Treatment Plants or a place designated by the Superintendent of
ig said Plants, or to do so without first having complied with each
19 provision of this Ordinance.
20 C. Any person, firm, partnership or corporation causing
21 or directing the disposal or discharge of, or so disposing or
22 discharging, such wastes specified herein, shall obtain a written
23 permit from, and shall provide addresses and other information
24 requested by, the Superintendent of said Plants.
25 D. The fee for such permit shall be in accordance with the
26 following schedule:
Zq 1. For each truck or trailer load from a location within
Zg the city - $'2.50.
29 2. For each truck or trailer load from a location outside
~ the City - $7.50.
31 The disposal or discharge of such wastes shall be prohibited be-
32 tween the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. and on Saturdays,
Sundays and holidays, provided that said Superintendent may per-

1 mit such disposal or discharge during said hours or on said days
2 upon the payment of a fee which shall be triple the normal rate
3 for each load of such wastes, When in the opinion of said Super-
4 intendent, or his agent, a waste load is unfit or unsafe for dis-
5 charge or disposal, he may refuse to permit such discharge or dis
6 posal. The cleanings from grease and oil and similar interceptor
7 shall not be discharged at said Plants or at or into other sewer-
g age facilities.
9 E. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, partnership
to or corporation to give false information to the Superintendent
11 concerning the source or the original address of such wastes.
12 F. Each person, firm, partnership or corporation carrying
13 on or engaging in the business of pumping or cleaning septic
14 tanks, cesspools, chemical toilets and sewage seepage pits shall
15 obtain a faithful performance bond in the amount of $1000.00 in a
16 form approved by said Superintendent and shall, upon demand, dis-
17 play evidence of the appropriate business license required for
1s the carrying on of said business.
19 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was duly
20 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the city of San Bernar
