(-;2.1:6 'I I AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES FOR THE CURRENT YEAR UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A REVENUE Tb CARRY ON THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF SAID CITY, AND TO/PAY THE BONDED AND OTHER INDEBTEDNESS THEREOF. 3 4 5 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO 6 DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 7 SECTION ONE: That there is hereby levied for 'the present 8 fiscal year, beginning July 1st, 1964 and ending June 30th, 1965, 9 on all property within the corporate limits of the City of San Bernardino, a property tax of $ 1.1926 upon each one hundred ~1 dollars using as a basis the value of such property as assessed 12 by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino, as the 13 same may be equalized, and returned as herein provided, and the 14 tax so levied and to be collected is hereby appropriated as fol- 15 lows: 16 17 18 19 20 General Fund $ .0460 Street Fund $ . . 5612 Library Fund $ .207" Park Improvement Fund $ .3778 SECTION TWO: That there is also hereby levied for said 21 fiscal year upon all property within the corporate limits of the 22 City of San Bernardino a special tax of $ .3104 on each one 23 hundred dollars, using as a basis the value of such property as 24 assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino, 25 as the same may be equalized, and returned as herein provided, 26 which tax levied and to be collected, shall be applied to the 27 payment of the obligations of the City of San Bernardino to the 28 State Employees' Retirement System. 29 30 fiscal year upon all property within the corporate limits of the SECTION THREE: That there is also hereby levied for said 31 C~ty of San Bernardino, a special tax of $ .01Q4 on each one 32 hundred dollars, using as a basis the value of such property as r 1 assessed by the County Assessor of the county of San Bernardino, 2 as the same be equalized, and returned as herein provided, which 3 tax so levied and to be collected, shall be applied to the payme t 4 of the principal and interest on the Library Bonds due and to 5 become due, or to accrue during said fiscal year. 6 SECTION FOUR: That there is also hereby levied for said 7 fiscal year upon all property within the corporate limits of 8 the City of San Bernardino, a special tax of $ .OU5 on each 9 one hundred dollars using as a basis the value of such property 10 as assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernar- 11 dino, as the same be equalized, and returned as herein provided, 12 which tax so levied, and to be collected, shall be applied to 13 the payment of the principal and interest on the Fire System 14 Bonds, 1962, Interest and Redemption Fund, due and to become due 15 or to accrue during the said fiscal year. 16 SECTION FIVE: That taxes and special assessment tax 17 hereby levied shall be collected at the same time and in the 18 same manner as State and County taxes, and when collected, shall 19 be paid to the Treasurer of the City of San Bernardino. 20 SECTION SIX: The respective amounts hereinbefore desig- 21 nated as being the amount of taxes levied on each one hundred 22 dollars of the assessed valuation of the property hereinbefore 23 referred to are hereby fixed as the respective rates of the tax 24 for said fiscal year for the purposes hereinbefore designated, 25 which said rates are fixed and designated in the number of cents 26 upon each one hundred dollars, using as a basis the value of said 27 property as assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San 28 Bernardino as the same may be equalized and returned to said 29 Common Council by the County Auditor of said County, as required 30 by Section 3 of the Acts of the Legislature hereinafter referred 31 t;p. 32 SECTION SEVEN: The City Clerk is hereby directed to 1 immediately transmit to the County Auditor of the County of San 2 Bernardino a certified copy of this Ordinance. 3 SECTION EIGHT: It is hereby found and determined and 4 declared that this Ordinance is urgently required for the immed- 5 iate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, in 6 that this Ordinance is adopted pursuant to the provisions of 7 Section 131 of the Charter of said City, and an Act of the Legis- 8 lature of the State of California, Statutes 1913 and subsequent 10 take effect before the first day of September, 1964, in order 9 amendment, by the provisions of which Act this Ordinance must ~1 to levy any valid tax for municipal purposes, without which 12 Ordinance and tax there will be insufficient revenues or funds 14 13 on hand to defray the expenses of said City. 15 of this Ordinance by a two-thirds vote of the Common Council, SECTION NINE: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage 16 and cause the same to be published in the San Bernardino Evening 17 Telegram, a daily newspaper published and circulated in the City 18 of San Bernardino, for three consecutive days. 19 SECTION TEN: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in 20 force immediately after its passage and approval. 21 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the whole number of members of the 22 Common Council of the City of San Bernardino
