THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
6 DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
7 SECTION ONE: The title of Ordinance No. 536 is hereby amende
8 to read as follows:
9 "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO PROHIBITING THE
10 USE OF ANY PlACE FOR THE CONDUCTING OF GAMES OF CHANCE AND OUT-
11 lAWING THE PlAYING I BETTING AT, OR CONDUCTING, ;(Jij' ANY GAME OF
12 CHANCE. "
13 SECTION TWO: Ordinance No. 536 Section One is hereby amended
14 to read as follows:
15 "SECTION ONE: It shall be unlawful for any person, either
16 as principal, agent, employee or otherwise, knowingly to permit
17 any house, room, apartment or place owned by him or under his charg
18 or control, to be used in whole or in part for playing~ conducting,
19 dealing or carrying on therein any game of chance not mentioned
~ in Section 330 and 330a of the Penal Code of the State of
21 California or other state law, with cards~ dice, billiard balls,
22 pool balls, cues, pins, checkers, counters, quoits, beans, spindles
23 tables, wheels, or machines, or any other device, contrivance or
~ apparatus, for money, checks, chips, credit or any other repre-
25 sentative of value or for any merchandise or any other thing of
26 value."
27 SECTION THREE: Ordinance No. 536 Section Two is hereby
28 amended to read as follows:
29 "SECTION TWO: It shall be unlawful for any person to play
30 or bet at or against, or as owner or employee to open, deal, play,
31 carryon or conduct, any game of chance not mentioned in Section
32 330 .or 330a of the Penal Code of the State of California or other
1 state law. which is played. conducted. dealt or carried on with
2 cards. dice. billiard balls. pool balls. cues. pins. checkers.
3 counters. quoits. beans. spindles. tables. wheels.,machines or
4 any other device. contrivance or apparatus. for money. checks.
,5 ships. credit or any other representative of value or for any
6 merchandise or any other thing of value."

SECTION FOUR: If any section. sub-section. sentence. clause
8 or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid
9 or unconstitutional by the decision of any Court of competent
10 jurisdiction. such decision shall not affect the validity of the
11 remaining portions of the Ordinance. The Common Council hereby
12 declares that it would have passed this Ordinance and each section.
13 sub-section. sentence. clause and phrase hereof. irrespective of
14 the fact that anyone or more of the sections. sub-sections.
15 sentences. clauses or phrases hereof be declared invalid or
16 unconstitutional.
17 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was duly
18 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
19 Bernardino at a
