2 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES FOR THE CURRENT
YEAR UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO.
3 IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A REVENUE TO CARRY ON THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS
OF SAID CITY, AND TO PAY THE BONDED AND OTHER INDEBTEDNESS THEREOF.

5 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
6 DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION ONE: That there is hereby levied for the present
8 fiscal year, beginning July 1st, 1965 and ending June 30th, 1966.
9 on all property within the corporate limits of the City of San
10 Bernardino, a property tax of $1.2111 upon each one hundred dollar
11 using as a basis the value of such property as assessed by the
12 County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino, as the same may
13 be equalized, and returned as herein provided, and the tax so
14 levied and to be collected is hereby appropriated as follows~

SECTION TWO~ That there is also hereby levied for said
20 fiscal year upon all property within the corporate limits of the
21 City of San Bernardino a special tax of $.3599 on each one
22 hundred dollars, using as a basis the value of such property as
23 assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino.
24 as the same may be equalized, and returned as herein provided.
25 which tax levied and to be collected, shall be applied to the
26 payment of the obligations of the City of San Bernardino to the
27 State Employees' Retirement System.

SECTION THREE: That there is also hereby levied for said
29 fiscal year upon all property within the corporate limits of the
30 City of San Bernardino. a special tax of $.0190 on each one
.31 hundred dollars. using as a basis the value of such property as
32 ~sessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino
1 as the same be equalized. and returned as herein provided. which
2 tax so levied and to be collected. shall be applied to the payment
3 of the principal and interest on the Library Bonds due and to
4 become due. or to accrue during said fiscal year.
5 SECTION FOUR~ That there is also hereby levied for said
6 fiscal year upon all property within the corporate limits of the
7 City of San Bernardino. a special tax of $.0378 on each one hun-
8 dred dollars using as a basis the value of such property as
9 assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino.
10 as the same be equalized. and returned as herein provided, which
11 tax so levied, and to be collected. shall be applied to the pay-
12 ment of the principal and interest on the Fire System Bonds. 1962.
13 Interest and Redemption Fund. due and to become due or to accrue
14 during the said fiscal year.
15 SECTION FIVE: That taxes and special assessment tax
16 hereby levied shall be collected at the same time and in the same
17 manner as State and County taxes. and when collected, shall be
18 paid to the Treasurer of the City of San Bernardino.
19 SECTION SIX: The respective amounts hereinbefore designate
20 as being the amount of taxes levied on each one hundred dollars
21 of the assessed valuation of the property hereinbefore referred
22 to are hereby fixed as the respective rates of the tax for said
23 fiscal year for the purposes hereinbefore designated. which said
24 rates are f~xed and designated in the number of cents upon each
25 one hundred dollars, using as a basis the value of said property
26 as assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernar-
27 dino as the same may be equalized and returned to said Common
28 Council of the County Auditor of said County, as required by
29 Section 3 of the Acts of the Legislature hereinafter referred to.
30 SECTION SEVEN: The City Clerk is hereby directed to
.31 immediately transmit to the County Auditor of the County of San
32 ~ernardino a certified copy of this Ordinance.

SECTION EIGHT: It is hereby found and determined and
2 declared that this Ordinance is urgently required for the immed-
3 iate preservation of the public peace. health and safety. in
4 that this Ordinance is adopted pursuant to the provisions of
5 Section 131 of the Charter of said City. and an Act of the Legis-
6 lature of the State of California, Statutes 1913 and subsequent
7 amendment. by the provisions of which Act this Ordinance must
8 take effect before the first lSayc of September. 1965, in order
9 to levy any valid tax for municipal purposes, without which
10 Ordinance and tax there will be insufficient revenues or funds

SECTION NINE: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
13 of this Ordinance by a two-thirds vote of the Common Council, and
14 cause the same to be published in the San Bernardino Evening
15 Telegram. a daily newspaper published and circulated in the City
16 of San Bernardino, for three consecutive days.

SECTION TEN: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
18 force immediately after its passage and approval.
19 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted
20 by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino at
21 meeting thereof, held on the 4,:q~ day
