AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO APPROVING THE ANNEXATION
TO THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO OF CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS
"ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 182". Ul'ON THE TERMS CONTAINED IN THE QUESTION
SUBMITTED AT A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID TERRITORY ON THE TWENTIETH DAY
OF SEPTEMBER, 1966.

WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of
the State of California known as the "Annexation Act of 1913", and pursuant to
Ordinance No. 2760, adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of

San Bernardino on the 1st day of August, 1966, a special election was held on
9
the 20th day of September, 1966, in that certain inhabited territory contiguous
to the City of San Bernardino designated as "Annexation District No. 182"
and which is hereinafter more particularly described; and
WHEREAS, at said special election the following question was
submitted to the qualified electors residing in said territory:
SHALL ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 182 BE ANNEXED TO, INCORPORATED IN
AND MADE A PART OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AND THE PROPERTY IN SUCH
TERRITORY BE, AFTER SUCH ANNEXATION, SUBJECT TO TAXATION EQUALLY WITH THE
PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, TO PAY ITS PRO-RATA PORTION,
BASED UPON ASSESSED VALUATION OF ALL BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO OUTSTANDING AT THE DATE OF THE FIRST PUBLICATION OF THE
NOTICE OF ELECTION FOR ANNEXATION?
WHEREAS, it appears from the canvass of the returns of the votes
cast at said special election that a majority of all votes cast in said
territory on the question of said annexation and the assumption of said
indebtedness favor annexation upon the terms contained in the question
submitted; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said special election and all proceedings
relating thereto have been conducted strictly in accordance with law.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE: That the annexation of that certain inhabited
territory contiguous to the City of San Bernardino designated as "Annexation
District No. 182" be and the same is hereby approved upon the terms contained

1 in the aforesaid question which was submitted at the special election held on
2 the 20th day of September, 1966. Said territory is described as follows:

Those portions of Sections 19, 29 and 32, Township 1
North, Range 3 West, San Bernardino Meridian and that
portion of Blocks 16 and 17, West Highlands as per plat
thereof recarded in Book 5 of Maps, page 77, records of
the County Recorder of San Bernardino County, State of
California, described as follows:

Beginning at a point on the Present Corporate Limits of
the City of San Bernardino, said point being the East
one-quarter corner of said Section 19; thence leaving said
City Limit line, South along the East line of said Section
19, a distance of 2540.00 feet, more or less, to the
Southeast corner of said Section 19; thence continuing
South along the West line of said Section 29, a distance
of 725.00 feet; thence East a distance of 412.5 feet,
more or less, to the West line of the property conveyed
to W".P. Rowe & Son, a partnership by Deed recorded
August 11, 1965, document number 863, in Book 6450, page
366, Official Records of said County; thence North 140 40'
West along said West line to the Northwest corner of said
Rowech Son property; thence North 890 44' East a distance
of 170.01 feet; thence South 730 51' East, a distance of
265.59 feet; thence South 450 06' East a distance of
198.70 feet; thence South 340 14' West, a distance of
10.35 feet; thence South 470 16' East, a distance of
219.20 feet; thence North 780 50' East, a distance of
241. 70 feet; thence North 140 27' 22" East, a distance of
507.00 feet, more or less, to the North line of said
Section 29; thence East along said North line to the
Northeast corner of the Northwest one-quarter of the
Northeast one-quarter of said Section 29; thence South
along the East line of the West one-half of the East
one-half of said Section 29 and along the centerline of
Orange Street, 40.00 feet wide, a distance of 5370.00
feet, more or less, to the centerline of Highland Avenue;
thence West along the centerline of said Highland Avenue to
its intersection with the centerline of Central Avenue;
thence South along the said centerline of Central Avenue
to its intersection with the centerline of Pacific Street;
thence West along the said centerline of Pacific Street to
its intersection with the West line of the East one-half
of the West one-half of said Section 32; thence North
along said West line of the East one-half of the West
one-half of said Section 32 to the said centerline of
Highland Avenue; thence West along said centerline of
Highland Avenue to its intersection with the centerline
of Victoria Avenue; thence North along said centerline of
Victoria Avenue to its intersection with the centerline of
Lynwood Drive, 82.50 feet wide; thence West along said
centerline of Lynwood Drive to a point which is East thereon
a distance 353.52 feet from the Southerly prolongation of
the West line of Lot 5, Block 16 of said West Highlands;
thence North and parallel with said West line of Lot 5,
Block 16, a distance of 41.25 feet to the South line of
said Lot 5, Block 16; thence North 080 35' East a distance
of 917.78 feet to a point in the North line of Lot 6 of
said Block 16, said point is 435.25 feet West of the
Northeast corner of said Lot 6, Block 16; thence North
and parallel with the Northerly prolongation of the East

line of said Lot 6, Block 16, a distance of 41.25 feet to
the centerline of Marshall Boulevard; thence West along
said centerline of Marshall Boulevard to a point which is
178.30 feet East of the Southerly prolongation of the West
line of Lot 5, Block 17, of said West Highlands; thence
North and parallel with said West line of Lot 5, Block 17,
a distance of 41.25 feet to the South line of said Lot 5,
Block 17; thence North a distance of 451.35 feet;-thence
North 470 22' East along the Southeasterly line of the
property conveyed to John D. Leedom, Jr., et ux, by Deed
recorded November 25, 1957 in Book '326, page 411, Official
Records of said County, a distance of 355.70 feet to the
East line of said Lot 5, Block 17; thence East a distance
of 33.54 feet to a point in the Northeasterly line of
Lot 6 of said Block 17; thence North 00 04' West a distance
of 2195.00 feet to a point in the North line of the South-
east one-quarter of said Section 19 which point is West
thereon, a distance of 486.00 feet from the Northeast
corner of said Southeast one-quarter; said point also
being on the City Limit line of said City of San Bernardino;
thence East along said North line of the Southeast one-
quarter and along said City Limit line a distance of
486.00 feet to the point of beginning.

SECTION TWO: The property herein annexed is declared to be a part
14 of Ward 4 and the boundaries of Ward 4 are hereby altered to include said
15 annexed territory. All property lying south of Highland Avenue in the Patton
16 State Hospital Area Annexation is placed and declared to be in R-1-7200
17 Single Family Residential Zone. All property lying north of Highland Avenue

is placed and declared to be in R-l-lO,800 Single Family Residential Zone,

except the following described parcel which is placed and declared to be in
20
R-1-14,400 Single Family Residential Zone:

Commencing at the intersection of the North line of Marshall
Boulevard (Lemon Street) with the east line of Victoria
Avenue; thenee North 250 feet, more or less, to the point
of beginning; thence North to the North line of the South-
east \ of Section 19, Township 1 North, Range 4 West, San
Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence West 486 feet; thence
South 2,260 feet; more or less; thence Southeasterly 665
feet, more or less, to the point of beginning.

SECTION THREE: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
27 Ordinance and cause the same to be published three consecutive times,
29 of general circulation in the City of San Bernardino.
