AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING ORDI-
NANCE NO. 1987 ENTITLED IN PART "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPER-
ATION OF TAXICABS. AMBULANCES. TOWING VEHICLES. . ."
THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
00 ORDlIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE: Ordinance No. 1987 Section Forty-two is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION FORTY-TWO: For the purposes of this Section,
readings of the towing vehicle at the pick-up point and at the
place where the vehicle is stored shall be entered on the invoice
of the charges against the towed vehicle.
The rates or fares to be charged the public by towing
carriers shall be such as are prescribed in the carriets permit
and shall not be less than the minimum nor more than the maxi-
mum rates which are hereby fixed as follows:
(a) ROLLABLE VEHICLES. The maximum charge for the tow-
ing of a non-wrecked ro11ab1e vehicle shall be $12.50 for three
(3) miles and $1.00 per mile or fraction thereof for each addi-
tional mile.
(b) NON-ROLLABLE VEHICLES. The maximum charge for the
towing of a non-ro1lable vehicle shall be $12.50 for three
(3) aU.s and $1.00 per aUe or fraction thereof for each addi-
tional aile.
(c) STORAGE. 'l1t. ..xiaua rate for outside storage shall
b. $1.50 per day or fraction thereof. and the maxiaua rate for
inside storage shall be $2.00 per day or fraction thereof. 'l1te
maximum rate for outside storage by the month shall be.f45.00.

(d) STANDBY TIME. 'l1te charge for standby time shall

(e) USE or DOLLY. The maximum charge for using a dOlly
5 to move a vehicle shall be $8.00.

(f) DROP DRIVE SHAFT. The maxiaua charge for dropping
7 the drive shaft of a vehicle shall be $2.50."

SECTION '1'WO: Ordinance No. 1987 Section Forty-three is
9 hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION FORTY-THREE: The rates which shall be charged
11 the public by ambulance carriers shall be such as are prescribed
12 in the carrier's permit. It shall be established in accordance
13 with the following schedule:

(a) Response to a routine non-emergency call and first
15 mile or fraction thereof froa point of origin, $30.00; non-rout in
16 emergency call, $5.00 additional.

(b) Each additional mile or fraction of a aile, $1.25.
(c) Waiting tiae or standby time after first 15 minutes,
19 at the request of the person hiring ambulance, or for the benefit
20 of the person injured, dead or sick, for each 15 minute period
21 or fraction thereof, $5.00.

(d) Night service charge 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., $5.00.
(e) Response to a call for ambulances not used, $15.00.
(f) For each additional patient, 501 over charge for
25 one patient.

(g) Carrier shall be permitted in its discretion to
fix the rates for special services."
