HomeMy WebLinkAbout2791 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 I I 22 I 2.311 241 251 I I 26 I I 271 281 29 30 31 II , ORDINANCE NO. cfl7tf7/ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO WHEREBY THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ELECTS TO AVAIL ITSELF OF THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 2 OF CHAPTER 1 OF DIVISION 4 OF TITLE 4 OF THE CALIF- ORNIA GOVERNMENT CODE PERTAINING TO THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES. THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION ONE: That the City of San Bernardino hereby elects to avail itself of those sections of the California Government Code set forth in Article 2 of Chapter 1 of Division 4 of Title 4 of said Code, said provisions setting forth the alternative method for the levy and collection of City taxes wherein and whereby the same are levied and collected by the County of San Bernardino; and until fur~her order, the assessment of taxable property within the said City, and the levy and collection of taxes for revenue to carryon the various departments of said City and to pay the bonded and other indebtedness, shall be assessed, levied and collected as provided in said Act and the Charter of said City. SECTION TWO: The County Auditor is hereby requested, pursuant to Sec~ion 43093 of said Government Code, to transmit to the legislative body of the City of San Bernardino a written state~ent showing the total value of all property within said City, including the "Old City" as the City of San Bernardino was originally constituted, and all property subsequently annexed thereto, as described in an ordinance of said City covering Annexation Distr~ct Nos. 1 to 183, inclusive, and Annexation Districts 185 and 186. SECTION THREE: Immediately upon the adoption of this Ordinance, the City Clerk shall file a certified copy thereof with the Auditor of the County of San Bernardino. SECTION FOUR: This Ordinance is adopted as an urgency 32 measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public 1 health, safety and general welfare and shall go into immediate 2 effect pursuant to Section 131 of the Charter of said City. The 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 facts constituting such urgency are that this Ordinance involves taxation of property and the method of the levying and collec- tion of City taxes needed for the anticipated revenue to carry on the needs of the City.
