HomeMy WebLinkAbout2847 I . j t [ I , ~ . if FI LED AUG 29 1967, 1 ORDINANCE NO. ~ffl 2 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES FOR THE CURRENT YEAR UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, IN 3 ORDER TO PROVIDE A REVENUE TO CARRY ON THE VARIOUS DEPARTM&~TS OF SAID CITY, AND TO PAY 'rHE BONDED AND OTHER IhDEBTEDNESS THEREOF. 4' I) THE MAYOR AND COMr-ION COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 8 7 SECTION ONE: That there is hereby levied for the present 8 fiscal year, beginning July 1st, 1967 and ending June 30th, 1968, 9 on all property within the corporate limits of the City of San 10 Bernardino, a property tax of $ 1.1783 11 1211 131! 1411 1511 I 16 I! 17 181 191 20 I 21 ! 221 I ,! 231 24 25 2611 27 upon each one hundred dollars using as a basis the value of such property as assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino, as the same may be equalized, and returned as herein provided, and the tax so levied and to be collected is hereby appropriated as follows: General Fund $ .1322 Street Fund $ .4849 Library Fund $ .1401 Park Improvement Fund $ .4211 SECTION TWO: That there is also hereby levied for said fiscal year upon all property within the corporate limits of the City of San Bernardino a special tax of $ .u~~6 on each one hundred dollars, using as a basis the value of such property as assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino, as the same may be equalized, and returned as herein provided, which tax levied and to be collected, shall be applied to the payment of the obligations of the City of San Bernardino to the State Employees' Retirement System. 28 SECTION THREE: That there is also hereby levied for said 29 fiscal year upon all property within the corporate limits of the 30 City of San Bernardino, a special tax of $ .0163 on each one 31 hundred dollars, using asa basis the value of such property as 32 assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino . 81 j 9i I 10] I 111 1211 13 :1 1411 Ii 15[1 161 17 18 I 191 20 i 21 221 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 1 2 3 may as the same{be equalized, and returned as herein provided, which tax so levied and to be collected, shall be applied to the payment of the principal and interest on the Library Bonds due and to :1 become due, or to accrue during said fiscal year. SECTION FOUR: That there is also hereby levied for said 6 fiscal year upon all property within the corporate limits of the 7'1 ' City of San Bernardino, a special tax of 'p , ! .0376 on each one hundred dollars using as a basis the value of such property as assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino, may as the same/be equalized, and returned as herein provided, which tax so levied, and to be collected, shall be applied to the payment of the principal and interest on the Fire System Bonds, 1962, Interest and Redemption Fund, due and to become due or to accrue during the said fiscal year. SECTION FIVE: That the taxes and special assessment tax hereby levied shall be collected at the same time and in the same manner as State and County taxes, and when collected, shall be Paid to the Treasurer of the City of San Bernardino. SECTION SIX: The respective amounts hereinbefore designated as being the amount of taxes levied on each one hundred dollars of the assessed valuation of the property hereinbefore referred to are hereby fixed as the respective rates of the tax for said fiscal year for the purposes hereinbefore designated, which said rates are fixed and designated in the number of cents upon each one hundred dollars, using as a basis the value of said property as assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino as the same may be equalized and returned tomid Common Council by the County Audi tor of said County, as required by Section 3 of t he Acts of the Legislature hereinafter referred to. SECTION SEVEN: The City Clerk is hereby directed to immediatel 31 transmit to the County Auditor of the County of San Bernardino a 32 certified copy of this Ordinance. 1 SECTION EIGHT: It is hereby found and determined and declared 2 that this Ordinance is urgently required for the immediate preserv- 3 ation of the public peace, health and safety, in that this Ordinance 4' is adopted pursuant to the provisions of Section 131 of the Charter ~ of said City, and an Act of the Legislature of the State of Calif- 6 ornia, Statutes 1913 and subsequent amendments Chapter 2 7, Title 5 Division ~Article 2, by the provisions i 81 and Government Code of which Act this I Ordinance must take effect before the first day of September, 1967, 9 in order to levy any valid tax for municipal purposes, without 10il which Ordinance and tax there will be insufficient revenues or funds 111 on hand to defray the expenses of said City. 121 SECTION NINE: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of 13!' this Ordinance by a two-thirds vote of the Common Council, and 14:1 cause the same to be published in the San Bernardino Evening Telegram 15 II a daily newspaper published and circulated in the City of San Bernar- !I 16 I dino, for three consecutive days. 171 181 immediately after its passage and approval. 1911 i 20: the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino ::111, da/2Y~Of ~k/?.J'dJd~ meeting thereof, held on the ~ ' 1967, by the following vote, 2311 to-wit: II . .// ' 24!
