HomeMy WebLinkAbout2881 1 ORDINANCE NO.c-2 If>?j 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO WHEREBY THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ELECTS TO AVAIL ITSELF OF THE PROVISIONS 3 OF ARTICLE 2 OF CHAPTER 1 OF DIVISION 4 OF TITLE 4 OF THE CALI- FORNIA GOVERNMENT CODE PERTAINING TO THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF 4 TAXES. 5 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF 'IRE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 6 SECTION ONE: That the City of San Bernardino hereby 7 elects to avail itself of those sections of the California Gov- 8 ernment Code set forth in Article 2 of Chapter 1 of Division 4 9 of Title 4 of said Code, said provisions setting forth the alter- 10 native method for the levy and collection of City taxes wherein 11 and whereby the same are levied and collected by the County of 12 San Bernardino; and until further order~ the assessment of tax- 13 able property within the said City, and the levy and collection 14 of taxes for revenue to carryon the various departments of said 15 City and to pay the bonded and other indebtedness, shall be 16 assessed, levied and collected as provided in said Act and the 17 Charter of said City. 18 SECTION TWO: The County Auditor is hereby requested~ 19 pursuant to Section 43093 of said Government Code, to transmit 20 to the legislative body of the City of San Bernardino a written 21 statement showing the total value of all property within said 22 City, including the "Old City" as the City of San Bernardino was 23 originally constituted, and all property subsequently annexed 24 thereto, as described in an ordinance of said City covering 25 nnexation District Nos. 1 to 195. inclusive. 26 SECTION FOUR: This Ordinance is adopted as an urgency SECTION THREE: Immediately upon the adoption of this 27 28 rdinance, the City Clerk shall file a certified copy thereof ith the Auditor of the County of San Bernardino. 29 30 easure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public ealth, safety and general welfare and shall go into immediate 31 32 . . 1 effect pursuant to Section 131 of the Charter of said City.
