2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAHOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN '
BERNARDINO APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF DISTRICT N0, 232 (LAFC 805).

4 WHEREAS, heretofore, proceedings were initiated by the Common '
5' Council of the City of San Bernardino, on its own motion, to annex to the
6 City of San Bernardino certain contiguous uninhabited territory hereinafter
7 described; and

S WHEREAS, on the 14th day of October, 1969, Resolution No. 9992 was ~
i
9 adopted by the aforesaid Coon Council of the City of San Bernardino, Californi',
10 declaring that proceedings had been initiated by said Council, and proposing
11 the annexation, for the reasons therein stated, of the aforementioned uninhabite
12 territory to the Ckty of San Bernardino, and that said resolution provided that
13 the prop®sed annexation should be generally known and identified as Annexation
14 District No. 232; and
15 WHEREAS, said resolution set forth therein that all the property
16 included in the aforesaid territory should be taxed equally with the other
17 property within the City to pay the bonded indebtedness and any and all
~I 18 general indebtedness and liability of the City of San Bernardino contracted
19 prior to or existing or outstanding at the time of the aforesaid proposed
20 annexation of the aforesaid property as provided in the hereinbefore mentioned
21 I Government Code; and
22 WHEREAS, said resolution did fix, determine and declare that a
23 hearing be held on the 24th day of November, 1969, at the hour of 7:00 o'clock
24 P,M, of said day in the Council Chambers of the City Hall in the City of San Ber
25 nardino, and the same was the day, hour and place designated where any person
26 owning real estate within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having an
27 objections to the proposed annexation, might object before the Common Council
28 and show cause why such territory should not be annexed; furthermore, the
29 said resolution provided that at any time not later than the said hour set,
30 as mentioned hereinbefore for the said hearing, any owner of property within
31 the said territory proposed to be annexed might file written protest with
' 32 the City of San Bernardino against such annexation; and

1 WHEREAS, on the 10th day of November, 1969, Resolution No. 10039 was
2 adopted by the aforesaid Common Council of the City of San Bernardino and
3 amended Resolution No. 9992 by changing the time and place for hearing protests
4 against said proposed annexation, the changed time and place being: Monday,
5 the 22nd day of December, 1969, at the hour of 9:30 o'clock A,M„ of said day
6i in the Council Chambers located in the Garner Building, 392 Court Street, San ~
7 Bernardino, California;
8 WHEREAS, no written protest of any kind or nature whatsoever was
9 filed with the City Clerk of the City of San Bernardino prior to 9:30 o'clock
10 A,M,, on the 22nd day of December, 1969, and thereafter on the 22nd day of
11 December, 1969, Resolution No. 10081 was adopted by the Mayor and Common
12 Council declaring that a majority protest has not been presented; and
13 WHEREAS, it appears to the Common Council of the City of San
14 Bernardino that the aforesaid annexation proceedings have been completed and
15 everything performed at this time in accordance with said Government Code,
16 as mentioned hereinbefore, and any and all other laws in any way connected
17 with the said annexation procedure having been complied with; and
18 WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of San Bernardino desires
19 to approve at this time the annexation of the aforesaid territory.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
21 DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
22 SECTION ONE: That said territory herein described as Annexation
23 District No, 232, is hereby annexed and incorporated in and made a part of the
24 City of San Bernardino.
25 SECTION TWO: The territory herein referred to as being annexed to
26 the City of San Bernardino is particularly described as follows,
27 to wit:
28 That portion of Lots 19 and 20, Block 42, RANCHO
SAN BERNARDINO, as per plat thereof recorded in
29 Book 7 of Maps, Page 2, records of the County
Recorder of San Bernardino County, State of
30 California, that portion of Lot 3, all of Lot 4
and a portion of Lot 5, a portion of Lot 7 and
31 all of Lots 8 and 9, and a portion of Lot 10,
all within Block 51 of Said RANCHO SAN BERNARDINO; Lots 1

of adjoining streets, described as follows;
11! Beginning at a point on the present Corporate Limits of
12 the City of San Bernardino, said point being the inter-
section of the center line of Baseline Street, 82,50 feet
13 wide and the northerly prolongation of the East line of
Bobbett Drive, 54,00 feet wide; thence East along said
14 City Limit Line and the center line of said Baseline
Street and leaving said City Limit Line a distance of
15 1885.00 feet more or less to the center line of Tippecanoe

30 outstanding at the time of said annexation, to wit:
31 A bonded indebtedness of $490,000.00 incurred for the acquisition
32 and construction of a public library, including additions to and enlargements
33 of the public library system of said City, the outstanding indebtedness thereon

ll' being $265,000.00, bearing interest at the rates of 4 3/4%, 3'~'/ and 3'~% per

3 A bonded indebtedness of $1,116.000.00 incurred for the acquisition ~
4 and construction of additions to, relocations of and replacements of the fire
5~I fighting system of said City, the outstanding indebtedness thereon being
6 $815,000.00, bearing interest at the rates of 4%, 3%, 2 3/4%, 2.9% and 2'~% per
7 annum.
8~ SECTION FOUR: The property herein annexed is declared to be a

9 part of Ward 1, and the boundaries of Ward 1 are hereby altered to include said
lOannexed territory, with zoning classifactions as shown on a map filed in the
