AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SfuV BERNARDINO WHEREBY SAID CITY j
3 ELECTS TO AVAIL ITSELF OF THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 2 OF CHAPTER i
1 OF DIVISION 4 OF TITLE 4 OF THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT CODE
4 PERTAINIIQG TO THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF PROPERTY TAXES.
5 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
6 SECTION 1. The City of San Bernardino hereby elects to
7 avail itself of those provisions of Article 2 of Chapter 1 of
8 Division 4 of Title 4 of the California Government Code, Sections
9 43090 et seq, said provisions setting forth the alternative
10 method for the levy and collection of City property taxes wherein
11 and whereby the same are levied and collected by the County of
12 San Bernardino; and until furt}~er order, the assessment of taxabl
13 property within the said City, and the levy and collection of
14 taxes for revenue to carry on the various departments of said
15 City and to pay the bonded and other indebtedness, shall be
16 assessed, levied and collected as provided in said Code and the
17 Charter of said City.
18 SECTIOiQ 2. The County Auditor is hereby requested, pursuant
19 to Section 43093 of said Government Code, to transmit to the
20 legislative body of the City of San Bernardino a written statement
21 showing the total value of all property within said City, includ-
22 ing the "Old City" as the City of San Bernardino was originally
23 constituted, and all property subsequently annexed thereto, as
24 described in an ordinance of said City concerning Annexation
25 District Nos. 1 to 243 inclusive Nos. 245 to 276 inclusive and
2g IQo. 279.
27 SECTIOIQ 3, Immediately upon the adoption of this ordinance,
2g the City Clerk shall file a certified copy thereof with the
29 Auditor of the County of San Bernardino,
30 SECTION 4.. This ordinance is adopted as an urgency measure
31 necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health,
32 safety and general welfare and shall go into immediate effect

1`I pursuant to Section 131 of the Charter of said City. The facts
2~ constituting such urgency are that this ordinance involves the
3 taxation of property and the method of the levying and collection
4 of City taxes needed for the anticipated revenue to carry on the
5 needs of the City.
6 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was duly
7 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Ber-
8 nardino a~t~
