I 4 THE ilAYOR AND C0MMOi3 COUiQCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 5 SECTION 1. Ordinance iQo. 821 Section 519 is hereby amended 6 to read as follows: 7 "SECTI0i4 519: Each person, firm or corporation owning or 8 harboring a dog, either kept upon private property or otherwise, 9 within the City of San Bernardino, shall on or before the first 10 day of July pf each year, pay to said City in advance for the 11 fiscal year, a license fee of five dollars ($5,00) for each dog, 12 and in addition, the sum of twenty-five cents C25~) for a tag for 13 each dog, and in the event any of said fees and sums are not paid 14 prior to the first day of September of each year, then a penalty 15 of three and 75/100 dollars ($3,75) shall be added to each such 16 license fee, A fee of one dollar ($1,00)shall be charged for any 17 additional tag issued to replace a lost, stolen, misplaced or 18 damaged tag, A fee of one dollar ($1.00) shall be charged for 19 the transfer of ownership of a licensed dog to a new owner in lieu 20 of a fee for a new license during the first year of such transfer. 21 Monies received during the current fiscal year for a license 22I shall 16~ first applied to the payment of delinquent fees, sums 23~ and penalties due during the preceding fiscal year, and any bal- 24 ance remaining thereafter shall be applied to the payment of the 25 current license fees, sums and penalties. A license issued during 26 ~ any prior fiscal year to the same owner for the same dog, as shown 27 in an application for a current license, shall be prima facie 28 evidence in any court or administrative proceeding that the dog 29 was continuously owned by the same owner from said prior year to 30 the current fiscal year." 31 SECTION 2, Ordinance iQo. 821 Section 531 is hereby amended 32 to read as follows: I 1 "SECTION 531: The Animal Control Officer shall have the 2 right to receive and dispose of dogs delivered into his possession) 3 by the owners thereof and shall charge therefor the sum of five 4 dollars ($5.,00) for each such dog and the sum of one dollar ($1.00 5 for each puppy under the age of three (3) months, plus three 6 dollars ($3.00) for a pick up service charge for transporting the 7 dog or puppy when applicable or twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per 8 month for such regular monthly services. Said officer may sell 9 any dog or puppy so placed in his possession for a sum not to 10 exceed five dollars ($.5,00); provided that said sum shall be seven 11 dollars ($7,00) when the dog or puppy is sold for research pur- 12 poses. 13 The Animal Control Officer shall have the right to receive 14 and dispose of dogs and cats delivered into his possession by the 15 owners thereof from the territory of the County of San Bernardino 16 or any municipality contracting with the City of San Bernardino 17 for animal control services and shall charge therefor the same 18 sums of money required to be paid by such municipality or county 19 for similar contractual services performed by the.
