2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO FIXING THE RATES
OF TAXES FOR THE CURRENT YEAR UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN
3 SAID CITY, IN ORDER TO PROVIDE REVENUE TO CARRY ON THE VARIOUS
DEPARTMENTS OF SAID CITY AND TO PAY THE BONDED AND OTHER IN-
4 DEBTEDNESS THEREOF.
5 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

7 SECTION 1. That there is hereby levied for the present
8 fiscal year, beginning July 1, 1972, and ending June 30, 1973,
9 on all property within the corporate limits of the City of San
10 Bernardino, a property tax of $1.2316 upon each one hundred
11 dollars of the assessed value of such property as assessed by
12 the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino, as the
13 same may be equalized and returned as herein provided; and the
14 tax so levied and to be collected is hereby appropriated as
15 follows:
16 General Fund $ .1876
17 Street Fund $ .1010
18 Library Fund $ .2100
19 Park & Recreation Fund $ .6830
20 Public Park Extension Fund $ .0500
21 SECTION 2. That there is also hereby levied for said fiscal
22 year upon all property within the corporate limits of the City
23 of San Bernardino a special tax of $.4700 on each one hundred
24 dollars of the assessed value of such property as assessed by
25 the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino, as the same
26 may be equalized and returned as herein provided, which tax

27 levied and to be collected shall be applied to the payment of
28 the obligations of the City of San Bernardino to the Public
29 Employees' Retirement System.
30 SECTION 3. That there is also hereby levied for said fiscal
31 year upon all property within the corporate limits of the City
32 of San Bernardino, a special tax of $.0160 on each one hundred

1 dollars of the assessed value of such property as assessed by
2 the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino as the same
3 may be equalized and returned as herein provided, which tax so
4 levied and to be collected shall be applied to the payment of
5 the principal and interest on the Library Bonds due and to be-
6 come due or to accrue during said fiscal year.
7 SECTION 4. That there is also hereby levied for said fiscal
$ year upon all property within the corporate limits of the City
9 of San Bernardino, a special tax of $ .0350 on each one hundred
10 dollars of the assessed value of such property as assessed by
11 the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino, as the same
12 may be equalized and returned as herein provided, which tax so
13 levied and to be collected shall be applied to the payment of
14 the principal and interest on the Fire System Bonds, 1962,
15 Interest and Redemption Fund, due and to become due or to accrue
16 during the said fiscal year.
17 SECTION 5. That taxes and special assessment taxes hereby
18 levied shall be collected at the same time and in the same manner
19 as State and County taxes are collected, and when collected,
20 shall be paid to the Treasurer of the City of San Bernardino.
21 SECTION 6. The respective amounts hereinbefore designated
22 as being the amount of taxes levied on each one hundred dollars
23 of the assessed valuation of the property hereinbefore referred
24 to are hereby fixed as the respective rates of the tax for said
25 fiscal year for the purposes hereinbefore designated, which said
26 rates are fixed and designated in the number of cents upon each
27 one hundred dollars, using as a basis the value of said property
28 as assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernar-
2g dino as the same may be equalized and returned to said Common
30 Council by the County Auditor of said County, as required by
31 the Acts of the Legislature hereinafter referred to.

11 SECTION 7. The City Clerk is hereby directed to immediately
2 transmit to the County Auditor of the County of San Bernardino
31 a certified copy of this ordinance.
4'~ SECTION 8. It is hereby found, determined and declared
5~ that this ordinance is urgently required for the immediate
6j preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare in
7 that this ordinance is adopted pursuant to the provisions of
8 Section 131 of the Charter of said City, and an Act of the Legis-
9 lature of the State of California, Statutes of 1913 and subse-
10 quent amendments, by the provisions of which Act this ordinance
11 must take effect before the first day of September, 1972, in
12 order to levy any valid tax for municipal purposes, without which
13 ordinance and tax there will be insufficient revenues or funds on
14 hand to defray the expenses of said City.
15 SECTION 9. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
16 immediately after its passage and approval.
17 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was duly
18 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Ber-
19 nardino at a~ ~aoQ meeting thereof, held on the
