2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 2048 ENTITLED IN PART "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE
3 CONDUCTING OF THE PRIMARY AND GENERAL ELECTIONS AND
ESTABLISHING THE TIME FOR PUBLISHING NOTICE OF ELECTION.

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
5'~ DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
6!, SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 2048 Section Five is hereby
Ili amended to read as follows:
8 "SECTION FIVE: That the hour of seven o'clock A.M. on the
9 date of said elections is hereby fixed as the hour for opening

10 the polls, and the hour of seven o'clock P.M. of said date is
111 hereby fixed as the hour for closing the polls at such elections;
12 provided, however, that if at said hour of closing there are any
13i other voters in the. polling places or in line at the door thereof
14 who are qualified to vote and who have not been able to do so
i
15j since appearing, the polls shall be kept open a sufficient time
l6i to enable them to vote, but no one who shall arrive at a polling
17~ place after seven o'clock P.M. shall be entitled to vote, although
18 the polls may be open when such person arrives. That primary
19j and general elections shall be held at the regularly designated
i
201 polling places in each precinct as designated in the Resolution
21i setting forth the number of consolidated precincts -and the
22 location of each polling place. The officers of election l
23 appointed and the polling places designated for the primary
24 election shall be the officers and polling places of the general ~
25 election so far as possible. Said Resolution shall also set
26 forth the list of the names of the election officers appointed.
27 Each precinct board shall consist of one (1) Inspector, one (1)
28 Judge and two (2) Clerks.
29 Not earlier than the eighty-ninth nor later than the
30 sixty-eighth day before any primary election, and not earlier
31 than the fifty-fourth day nor later than the tenth day before
32 any general municipal election, the City Clerk shall publish

lea notice of the election at least once in a newspaper of general
2'~circulation published. and circulated in the City of San Bernardino.
3 The notice shall be headed "Notice of Election", and shall contain
411a statement of:

5 (a) The time of the"election;
6j (b) The offices to be filled, specifying full term or short
7 term, as the case may be;
8 (c) The hours the polls will be open."
9 SECTION 2. The passage of this ordinance is an emergency
10 matter relating to elections and said ordinance shall be in force
11 and take effect immediately after its passage and approval.
12 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was duly
13 adopted. by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
14 Bernardino at a eeting thereof, held on the.
