ORDINANCE NO.~"~'
2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON CODNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF DISTRICT N0. 285 (LAFC 1188).

4 WHEREAS, heretofore, proceedings were initiated by the Common
5 Council of the City of San Bernardino, on its own motion, to annex to the
City of San Bernardino certain contiguous uninhabited territory hereinafter
7 described; and
8 WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of Octobez, 1972, a resolution was adopted
9 by the aforesaid Common Council of the City of San Bernardino, California,
10 declaring that proceedings had been initiated by said Council, and proposing
' 11 the annexation, fox the reasons therein stated, of the aforementioned
12 uninhabited territory to the City of San Bernardino, and that said resolution
13 rovided that the proposed annexation should be generally known and identified
14 as Annexation District No. 285; and
15 WHEREAS, said resolution set fozth therein that all the property
16 included in the aforesaid territory should be taxed equally with the other
17 zopexty within the City to pay the bonded indebtedness and any and all general
18 indebtedness and liabilifiy of the city of San Bernardino contracted prior to
jg r existing or outstanding at the time of the aforesaid proposed annexation
2Q f the aforesaid property as provided in the hereinbefore mentioned Government
21 ode; and
22 WHEREAS, said resolution did fix, determine and declare that a
23 hearing be held on the 20th day of November, 1972, at the hour of 9:30 o'clock
24 A. M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 300 North "D" Street, San
25 Bernardino, California, and the same was the day, hoax and place designated
2g where any person owning real estate within such territory so proposed to be
27 annexed and having any objections to the proposed annexation, might object
28 before the Common Council and show cause why such territory should not be
29 annexed; furthermore, the said resolution provided that at any time not later
30 than the said hour set, as mentioned hereinbefore for the said hearing, any
31 owner of property within the said territory proposed to be annexed might file
32 written protest with the City of San Bernardino against such annexation; and

7 Bernardino that the aforesaid annexation proceedings have been completed and
$ everything performed at this time in accordance with said Government Gode, as
g mentioned hareinbefore, and any and all ocher laws in any way connected with
10 the said annexation procedure having been complied with; and

15 SECTION ONE:. That said-tsrritory herein described as Anrexation
16 District No. 285 ie-herebgn senesced and incorporated in and made a'"part of the
17 City of San Bernardino.
SECTION TWO: The territory herein referred to as being annexed to
19 the City of San Bernardino is particularly described as follows: to wit:
20 Those portions of Lota 1, 2 and 3, Block 62 of the Rancho
San Bernardino, as per plat recorded in Book 7 of Maps, page 2,
Q1 those portions of LoEB 33 and 34 of Ounaingham Subdivision as
per plat recorded in 'Book 2 of Mapa, page 22,-and those portions
Q2 of Lot 9, TraeC 3621, as par plat recorded in Book 48 of Maps,
page 29, records of the County Recorder of San Bernardino County,

SECTION THREE: That the above described property will be subject

to taxation equally with the property within such municipal corporation to

pay its proportion of the following bonded indebtedness of the City of San
2 Bernaxdino, which said bonded indebtedness was outstanding or theretofoxe
3 authorized and is outstanding at the time of said annexation, to wit:
A bonded indebtedness of $490,000.00 incurred for the acquisition
5 and construction of a public libxary, including additions to and enlargements
6 of the public library system of said City, the outstanding indebtedness
7 thereon being $180,000.00, bearing interest at the rates of 4»3/4%, 3-1/4%,
$ and 3-1/2% per annum;
9 A bonded indebtedness of $1,116,000.00 incurred for the acquisition
10 and construction of additions to, relocations of and replacements of the fire
11 fighting system of said City, the outstanding indebtedness thereon being
12 $665,000.00, bearing interest at the rates of 4%, 3%, 2-3/4%, 2.99, and 2-1/2%
13 per annum,
14 SECTION FOUR: The pxopexty hexein annexed is declared to be a part
15 of Ward 3 and the boundaries of Ward 3 are hereby altered to include said
16 annexed territory, with zoning to be in the R-3-3000, C~3 and M-lA Districts
17 and to be applied as shown on Map titled Exhibit "A", as follows:
