2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO WHEREBY SAID CITY
I ELECTS TO AVAIL ITSELF OF THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 2 OF CHAPTER
3 ~ 1 OF DIVISION 4 OF TITLE 4 OF THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT CODE PER-
T TAINING TO THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF PROPERTY TAXES.

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
5 I DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
6 SECTION 1. The City of San Bernardino hereby elects to
7 ~ avail itself of those provisions of Article 2 of Chapter 1 of
I
8 Division 4 of Title 4 of the California Government Code, Sections
9 43090 et seq, said provisions setting forth the alternative
10 method for the levy and collection of City property taxes wherein
11 and whereby the same are levied and collected by the County of
12 San Bernardino; and until further order, the assessment of taxabl
13 property within the said City, and the .levy and collection of
14 II taxes for revenue to carry on the various departments of said
15 I' City and to pay the bonded and other indebtedness, shall be .
16 assessed, levied and collected as provided in said Code and the
17 Charter of said City.
18 SECTION 2. The County Auditor is hereby requested, pur-
19 suant to Section 43093 of said Government Code, to transmit to
20 the legislative body of the City of San Bernardino a written

21 statement showing the total value of all property within said
22 City, including the "Old City" as the City of San Bernardino was
23 originally constituted, and all property subsequently annexed
24 thereto, as described in an ordinance of said City concerning
2g Annexation District Nos. 1 to 243 inclusive, Nos. 245 to 285 in-
26 clusive.
27 SECTION 3. Immediately upon the adoption of this ordinanc ,
2g the City Clerk shall file a certified copy thereof with the
1 Auditor of the County of San Bernardino.

2 SECTION 4. This ordinance is adopted as an urgency measur
3 I; necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, ~
4 safety and general welfare and shall go into immediate effect
5 I!, pursuant to Section 131 of the Charter of said City. The facts ,
b constituting such urgency are that this ordinance involves the II
7 I taxation of property and the method of the levying and collection]
8 III', of City taxes needed for the anticipated revenue to carry on the
9 needs of the City.
10 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the. foregoing ordinance was duly
11 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bern-
