HomeMy WebLinkAbout1453 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 1 ORDINANC}~ NO. ,Y~~ 2 3 AN ORDINANCE C.ALLING IND PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A SP,CIAL ELECTION IN Tll'; CITY OF SAN BGRNARDINO ON TH i: 4 th DAY 0 F NOVEMBm, 1930, FOR THE PURP03.i: OF SUBMITTING TO A VOTE OF 'rRS: C<lLJ:C'roRS OF SAID CITY A PROPOSED ORDINANCS INITIATED PURSUA.lZT TO SECTION 120 OF THS CHART~R OF SAID CITY. 4 5 6 7 'l'HE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF 'rK~ CITY OF SAN 8 B;~RNARDINO DO ORDAIN is FOLLOWS: SECTION ONE: That a special election be held in the City of San Bernardino on the 4th day of November, 1930, for the purpose of submitting to a vote of the qualified electors of said City the proposed ordinance initiAted pursuant to the provisions of Section 120 of the Charter of said Ci ty enti tled: "An Ordinance creating and providing for offices and positions in the Fire Department in the Municipal Government of the City of San Bernardino, Fixing minimum salaries, compensations and providing mi nimum conveyance cmd expense for certain officii)ls and employees in the Department and repealing all other Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance". SECTION T'NO: That the <,pecis.l election aforesaid be Bnd the same is hereby consolidated with the general state election . to be held in the State of CaliforniB on the said 4th day of November, 1930, and that said special election be consolidated with a special election provided for by Ordinance No. 1452 adopted on the 22nd day of September, 1930, and approved on . the 23rd day of September, 1930. S:~TION THREE: ~at the ballot to be used at the special election hereby called Bnd provided for shall set forth the proposi ti on to be vo t ed upon Bt such spec ial elec ti on in the following manner, to-wit: "For the ordinance creating c.nd providing for 32 offices and positions in the Fire Department in the Municipal Government of the City of San Bernardino, Fixing .. minimum salaries, compensations and providing minimum conveyance and expense for certain officials and employees in the Department". 1. E'ODR: That the proposition to be vcted for at the speciE,l election hereby called and provided for shall 6 be printed upon, and designated as Propcsition No.3 upon, the 7 8 ballot provided for and to be used at the special election c8.l1ed " " and provided for by said Ordinance No. 1452 - . SEr.TIOCl ll'IVE: That the election precincts, polling places, voting booths, f;nd election officers provided for the i holding of said general state election within said City, and said special election c~11ed and provided for by said Ordinance No. 1452 , shall constitute, respectively, the election precincts, polling places, voting bO'Jths L.nd election officers for the special election hereby called and provided for; provided, that except in the respects aforesaid, the said general state election, and the special elections hereby consolidated, shall be conducted seperC!tely in the SElme ffiEnner as if they hd not been consolidated. SECTION SIX: Tha t the polls a t the speci al elec tion hereby called L.nd provided for ShE,ll remain open for the time required by law for the holding of said General state Election. SECTI'N SEVEN: That the City Clerk shall give notice of the special election hereby called and provided for by publication in the San Bernardino Daily Sun, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in smd Citj, as provide by law, and shall prOVide all neceSSarj ballots, ballot boxes, tally lists, returns and all other necessary supplies for such election, and see that they are properly distributed to each voting booth in the manner provided by law. SJOC:TION SIX: That the City Clerk shall certify to th~. paEsage of this Ordinance, and Cause the same to be published 2.
