J~6~ I AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 101 AND 103 OF ORDIIAlICE NO. 821, ENTITLED: JIll ORDINANCE REVISUG .AND CODIl'IING THE ORDINANCES OF, AND PROVIDING A CODE OF LAWS FOR, THE CITY OF SAN BEBlARDIllO JI , PASSED AUGUST 8, 1921, AND APPROVED AUGUST 9, 1921, AS AMENDED. The Mayor and Common Colncil of the City of San Ber- nardino do ordain as follows: SECUOII on: !hat Sections 101 and 103 of Ordinance Xo. 821, entitled:" An Ordinance revising and codifying the ordinances of, and providing a code of lawa for, the City of San Bernardino", passed August 8, 1921, and approved August 9, 1921, as amended, be and the same are hereby respectively amended to read as follows: "Section 101: That in addition to the offices prOVided by the City Charter, there are hereby created the folloWing offices: 1. City Electrician; 2. Building Inspector; 3. Plumbing Inspector; 4. Sanitary Inspector; 5. Budget Officer; 6. Secretary to the Chief of Police. That all of said offices shall be in the unclassified service, except the office of Budget Officer, which shall bein the classified service. That in addition to the duties prOVided by law, the City Electrician, the Building Inspector and the 9lumbing Inspector shall render and perform such duties as shall be required by the City Engineer, and shall, in the performance of their several duties, be subject to the supervision and control ot the City Engineer, provided, that in all cases where a duty is imposed by law upon the City Electrician, the Building Inspector or the Plumbing Inspector, the determination of such officer with respect .. 1. <.., 1 thereto shall be final and conclusive." 2 .Section 103: Except as otherwise provided for by law, 3 the salaries of the various city officers are hereby fixed as 4 follows: l5 City Trea.urer, $2400.00 per annum; 8 Chief of Police, $2700.00 per annum; 7 City Engineer, $3300.00 per annum;, 8 ~uper!ntendent of Streets, $3000.00 per annum; 9 Building Inspector, $2400.00 per annum; 10 Health Officer, $1200.00 per annum; 11 Chief Engineer of Fire Department, '2700.00 per annum; 12 City Electrician, $2100.00 per annum; 13 Food Inspector, who shall be Ex-Officio Sanitary Inspect r, 14 t1800.00 per annum; 15 Plumbing Inspector, $2100.00 per annum; 18 Budget Officer, $2700.00 per annum; 17 Deputy City Treasurer, $1800.00 per annum; 18 Deputy City Treasurer, $1200.00; 19 Deputy City Clerk, $2100.00 per annum; 20 Deputy City Clerk, $1380.00 per annum; 21 Deputy City Clerk, $1200.00 per annum; 22 Deputy City Attorney, $1800.00 per annum; 23 Secretary for CitiAttorney, $1320.00 p~r annum; '~." 24 215 Secretary for Mayor, $1500.00 per annum; Secretary to Chief of Police, $1500.00 per annum; Secretary to Civil Service Bo~rd, $300.00 per annum; aecreta~y for City Cemetery, $300.00 per annum." ,ECTION TWO: That the Food Inspector shall be Ex-Offici 26 27 28 Sanitary Inspector, and in addition to the performance of the duti s 29 imposed by law upon the Food Inspector of said City, shall also 30 perform the duties imposed upon the Sanitary Inspector of said Cit . 31 SECTION THREE: This Ordinance shall t)lke effect and be 32 in force on and after Ma7 11th, 1931, and the salaries herein ,. 2. ./; " -27 28 29 30 31 32 1 provided shall be payable in equal monthly installments upon the 2 first day of each calendar month for the services performed for 3 the month immediately preceding. 4 SECTIOlf FOUR: That this Ordinance is necessary for the 5 immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, 8 in that the creation of the offices and the provisions for the 7 payment of the officers,as herein provided, is necessary to the i 8 proper and efficient discharge and execution of the powers and dutl'es i 9 of said City, and because of the necessity aforesaid, the provisioQs 10 of this Ordinance shall go into effect before thirty d~ys from the 11 time of its final passage and approvel. 12 13 14 SEC'lIOIf FIVE: '!'he City Clerk shall certify to the passage ot this Ordinance, and shalf cause the same to be publ1shedi for three consecutive days in the San Bernardino Daily Sun, a dail1 newspaper hereby designated for that purpose. i I I hereby certify that the foreg01ng Ordinance was duly I ado.pted by the Kayar and Common Council of the City of San Ber~ ~ nardino, at a regular meeting thereof held on thVcdday ot~:'-, 1931, by 15 18 17 18 19 20 ~-- IOES: c~/ ABSENT: 21 22 23 24 25 The foregoing Ordinance is hereby approved thiS~y f 28 , 1931. ,. 3. <'''t
