HomeMy WebLinkAbout1468 ORDINANCE NO. 1468 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 821 ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE REVISING AND CODIFYING THE ORDINANCES OF AND PROVIDING A CODE OF LAWS FOR THE CITY OF SAN BERNAR- DINO", PASSED AUGUST 8; 1921, AND APPROVED AUGUST 9, 1921, AS AlIENDED. The KaTor and Common Council of the City of San Ber- nardino do o~ain as follows: SECTION ONE: That Ordinance No. 821 entitled "An 8 Ordinance revising and codifTing the ordinances of and providing 9 a code of laws for the City of San Bernardino", passed August 8, 10 1921, and approved August 9, 1921, as amended, be and the same 11 is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section to be known 12 and numbered "Section 104-a" and reading as follows, to-wit: - 13 14 "Section 104-a: Each of the followin~ officers of the city of Saa Bernardino, before entering upon the discharge of their official duties and within twenty days after notice of their appointment, shall severally execute to said City an official bond in the following penal sums respectively, to-wit: Each member of the Board of Water Commissioners, in the penal sum of $1,000.00; Chief Engineer of Fire Department, in the penal sum of $1,000.00; Superintendent of Streets, in the penal sum of $1,000.00; Each Deputy City Treasurer, in the penal sum of $5,000.00: Secretary to the Mayor, in the penal sum of $2,000.00; Clerk to the City Treasurer, in the penal sum of $5,000.00; Budget Officer, in the penal sum of $1,000.00; City Engineer, in the penal sum of $1,000.00; 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 Plumbing Inspector, in the penal sum of $1,000.00; Building Inspector, in the penal sum of $1,000.00; Electrical Inspector, in the penal sum of $1,000.00; Milk Inspector, in the penal sum of $1,000.00; Food Inspector, in the penal'sum of $1,000.00; .. 1. "., Secretary to Chief of Police, in the penal sum of $3,000.00; Each Policeman and Police Offi.... other than the Chief ot Police, in the penal sum of $1,000.00. The Mayor and Common Council, by resolution, may provide that any officer of said City of wnom an official bond is not otherwise required, shall execute an official bond in such penal sum as shall be therein specified. ~ SECTION TWO: That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and atter its passage and aJProval, it being hereby determined and declared that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety in that it is necessary that proviSion be made for securing the execution of and the faithful performance of official duty by the official bonds herein provided for. sSECTION THREE: That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance, and cause the same to be published for three consecutive days in the San Bernardino Daily Sun, a daily newspaper hereby designated for that purpose.
