ORDINANCE NO. ~.
AN ORDINANCE ELECTING TO AVAIL THE CITY OF SAN BERNAR-
DINO OF THE PRIVILEGE OF AN ACT ENTITLED DAN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR
THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES BY AND FOR THE USE OF MUNICI-
PAL CORPORATIONS AND CITIES INCORPORATED UNDER THE LAWS OF THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, EXCEPT MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS OF THE FIRST
CLASS, AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE CONSOLIDATION AND ABOLITION OF
CERTAIN MUNICIPAL OFFICERS AND TO PROVIDE THAT THEIR DUTIES MAY
BE PERFORMED BY CERTAIN OFFICERS OF THE COUNTY, AND FIXING THE
COMPENSATION TO BE ALLOWED FOR SUCH COUNTY OFFICERS FOR THE
SERVICES SO RENDERED TO SUCH MUNICIPAL CORPORATION", APPROVED
MARCH 27, 1895, AND ALL AMENDMENTS THEREOF.
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernar-
dino do ordain'. as follows:

SECTION ONE: The City of San Bernardino hereby elects
to avail itself of the privilege of an Act entitled "An Act to
provide for the levy and collection of taxes by and for the use
of municipal corporations and cities incorporated under the
laws of the State of California, except municipal corporations

of the first class, and to provide for the consolidation and
abolition of certain muniCipal officers and to provide that
their duties may be performed by certain officers of the Coun-
ty, and fixing-the compensation to be allowed for such County
officers for the services so rendered to such municipal corpo-
ration", approved March 27, 1895, and all amendments thereof;
and until further order the assessment of taxable'property
within the said City, and the levy and collection of taxes for
the revenue for carrying on the various departments of said
City, and to pay the bonded and other indebtedness, shall be
assessed, levied and collected as in said Act is consistent
with the provisions of the Charter of said City.
SECTION TWO: That the County Auditor be and he is here-
by requested, when transmitting to the Mayor and Common Coun-
cil the statement provided in Section 3 of the aforesaid Act
to set forth in said statement the total value of all property
within various portions of said City, hereinafter designated,
the total value of all property within each portion being

designated separate and apart from the other, to-wit:
(1) The nOld Cityn, and Annexation District No.1,
consolidated;
(2) Annexation District No.2;
(3) Annexation District Ro. 9;

(4) Annexation District No.3, Annexation District
Ro. 4, Annexation District No.5, Annexation District No. a,
Annexation District No.7, Annexation District Ro. 8, Annexa-
tion District Ro. 10, Annexation District No. 11, Annexation
District No. 12, Annexation District No. 13, Annexation Dis-
trict Ro. 14, Annexation District No. 16, Annexation District
No. 17, Annexation District No. 18, Annexation District No.
19, Annexation District No. 20, and Annexation District No.
21;
(5) Lighting Maintenance District No.1, of the
City of San Bernardino, as defined and described in the Reso-
lution of the Kayor and Common Council of said City providing
for the forma~ion of said district, which Resolution was adopt-
ed August 19, 1929, and approved August 20, 1929.

That said nOld Cityn and said Annexation Districts
Nos. 1 to 14, inclusive, 16 to 18, inclusive, and 20 and 21,
are described in Section 202, or Ordinance No. 821, entitled
"An Ordinance revising and COdifying the Ordinances of, and
providing a code of laws for the City of San Bernardino",
passed August 8, 1921, and approved August 9, 1921, which
said Ordinance Ro. 821 is hereby referred to for a particular
description of said portion of said City.
SECTION THREE: Upon the adoption of this Ordinance,
the City Clerk shall immediately file a certified copy thereof,
together with a certified copy of Section 202 of said Ordinance
No. 821, with the following officers of the County of San Ber-
nardino:

1 One with the Assessor; one with the Tax Collector; .
2 and one with the Auditor.

SECTION FOUR: It is hereby found and declared that
4 this is an Ordinance for the immediate preservation of the
5 public peace, heal1;)1 and safety, and that this is an urgency
6 measure, it being an Ordinance pro Tided by and adopted pur-
7 suant to Section 130 of the Charter of the City of San Bernar-
8 dino, and the same shall take effect immediately upon its
9 adoption and approval.

SECTION FIVE: The City Clerk shall certify to the
11 passage of this Ordinance by a two-thirds vote of the Common
12 Council of the City of San Bernardino, and shall cause the
13 same to be published for three consecutive days in the SAN BER-
14 NARDINO DAILY SUN, a daily newspaper hereby designated for that
15 purpose.
16 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the whole number .of members of
17 the Common Council of the City of S*n B~rnardino is five, and
18 that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted by said Common Coun-
19 cil a t its meeting held on the ~.:z:;;(; day of July, 1931, by
