AN ORDINANCE ELECTING TO AVAIL THE CITY OF SAN BERNAR-
DINO OF THE PRIVILEGE OF AN ACT ENTITLED "AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR
THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES BY AND FOR THE USE OF MUNICIPAL
CORPORATIONS AND CITIES INCORPORATED UNDER THE LAWS OF THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA, EXCEPT MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS OF THE FIRST CLASS,
AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE CONSOLIDATION AND ABOLITION OF CERTAIN
MUNICIPAL OFFICERS AND TO PROVIDE THAT THEIR DUTIES MAY BE PER-
FORMED BY CERTAIN OFFIOERS OF THE COUNTY, AND FIXING THE COMPEN-
SATION TO BE ALLOWED FOR SUCH COUNTY OFFICERS FOR THE SERVICES
SO RENDERED TO SUCH MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS", APPROVED MARCH 27,
1895, AND ALL AMENDMENTS THEREOF.
THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNAit-
DINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION ONE: The City of San Bernardino hereby eleots
to avail itself of the privilege of an Aot entitled "An Act to
.
provide for the levy and collection of taxes by and for the use
of municipal oorporations and oities inoorporated under the laws
of the btate of California, except munioipal corporations of the
l!'irst class, snd to provide for the consolidation and abolition
of certain municipal officers and to provide that their duties
may be performed by certain officers of the County, and fixing
the oompensation to be allowed for suoh County officers for the
services so rendered to each municipal corporation", approved
Maroh 27, 1895, and all amendments thereof; and until further
order the assessment of taxable property within the said City,
and the levy and collection of taxes for the revenue for oarrying
on the various departments of said city, and to pay the bonded
and other indebtedness, shall be assessed, levied and collected
as in said Act is consistent with the provisions of the Charter
of said city.
SECTION TWO: That the ~ounty Auditor be and he is hereby
re'luested, When transmitting to the Mayor and Common Counoil the
statement provided in bection 3 of the aforesaid Act, to set forth
in said statement the total value, of all property within various
portions of said City, hereinafter designated, the total value of

SECTION THREE: Upon the adoption of this Ordinance, the
2 City Clerk shall immediately file a certified oopy thereof, to-
S gether with a certified oopy of Section 202 of said Ordinance No.
t 821, with the following officers of the County of San Bernardino:
e One with the Assessor, one with the Tax COlleotor, and one with
8 the Auditor.

SECTION FOUR: It is hereby found and declared 1:,hat v~Sfl '
SECTION FIVE: The City Clerk shall certify to the pas~

9 peace, health and safety, and that this is an, urgency measure, i
10 being an Ordinance provided by and adopted pursuant to Section
11 130 of the Charter of the City of San Bernardino, and the same
12 shall take effect immediately upon its adoption and approval.
