BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: SECTION ONE: That the City of San Bernardino enter into and execute an Agreement with the San Bernardino Mexican Chamber of Commerce, designating said San Bernardino Mexican Chamber of Commerce as an official agency of said City for publicizing and advertising the City of San Bernardino, upon the terms and conditions as set forth in said Agreement, and paying the San Bernardino Mexican Chamber of Commerce for such services money in the sum of FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS AND NO/lOO ($4,000). SECTION TWO: That the said Agreement referred to herein, a copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and is hereby referred to and made a part hereof as though set out at length herein, in hereby approved. SECTION THREE: That the Mayor and City Administrator of the City of San Bernardino is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement on behalf of the City of San Bernardino. I ,,,,,'-)..1..1_, , ' "....,'.~"".$'7~1 . 1971. 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this day of , 1971, by and between the CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, a Municipal Corporation, hereinafter called "The City" and the SAN BERNARDINO MEXICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, a CaUfol'Dia Corporation, hereinafter called "Mexican Chamber of Commerce. .!Vl.1'_N_~~~ ~1' Jf: WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common council of the City have found and determined that it will be for the convenience, benefit and advantage of the City, and of its inhabitants, to employ the Mexican Chamber of Commerce for the general purpose of publicizing and advertising the Ci~ and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Administrator of the City have been heretofore duly and regularly authorized by Resolution of the Mayor and Common Council to enter into a written contract with the Mexican Chamber of Commerce. NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises aforesaid, all laws governing such matters, and the several mutual promises and agreements, hereinafter contained, the parties hereto do covenant and agree as follows: 1. The Mexican Chamber of Commerce agrees that it will, during the fiscal year 1970-71 use its best efforts to advertise and publicize the City of San Bernardino, induce immigration and visitation to said City, induce and promote industrial business and residential growth, exhibit manufactured and other products made in and near the said City, advertise and ful'Dish information to the general public regarding the advantage of said City as a place to live, work and establish industries and businesses, generally aid and promote industrial expansion of said City, cause to be prepared, published and disseminated bulletins and other advertising matter relating to the foregoing activities and compile data, photographs, literature and other information with respect to the foregoing activities. ~,)' ~ r_ 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 2. In consideration of the services to be performed by the Mexican 11 , Chamber of Commerce, the City hereby designates the Mexican Chamber of Commerce as an official agency of the City for the performance of such services. 3. The City agrees to pay to the Mexican Chamber of Commerce as and for compensation for the services to be performed in accordance with Paragraph 1 hereof, money in the sum of FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS AND NO/100 ($4. OGO) payable in two (2) equal installments on December 16, 1970 and May 1, 1971. 4. Mexican Chamber of Commerce shall submit a written report to tie Mayor and Common Council at the end of the fiscal year 1970-71, or earlier, or at such other times as may be required by the Mayor and Common Council, showing the accounting of all funds given to the Mexican Chamber of Commerce by the City. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the City of San Bernardino pursuant to the Resolution of its Mayor and Common Council, has caused this Agreement to be executed by its Mayor and City Adminlstrator and attested to by its City Clerk and the said Mexican Chamber of Commerce has caused this agreement to be executed by its proper offices the day and year in this Agreement first above written.
