AN ORDINANCE FIXING TEE RATE AND LEVYING A PROPER'rY
TAX FOR THE CURREm' YEAR UPON ALL PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAIN'rAIlUNG THE MUNICIPAL GOV-
ERNME:N'1' OF SAID CITY, AND PAYING THE PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST .UPON
THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF SAID CITY DURING THE CURRENT FISCAL
YEAR.

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Ber-
nardino do ordain as follows:
SECTION ONE: That there is hereby levied for the
present fiscal year on all property within the corporate limits
,
of the City of San Bernardino a property tax of $ !.Jr upon
each one hundred dollars of the assessed valuation of such
property as assessed by the County Assessor of the County of
San Bernardino, and returned by the County Auditor of the Coun-
ty of San Bernardino, and the tax so levied and to be collected
is hereby appropriated as follows:

SECTION TWO: That there is also hereby levied for
the present fiscal year on all property within the corporate
limits of the City of San Bernardino, except the property des-
ignated and described as "4nnexation District No.2," as the
same is particularly described in Section 202 of Ordinance No.
821, entitled "An Ordinance revising and codifying the Ordi-
nances of, and providing a code of laws for the City of San
Bernardino", passed AUgu~, and approved August 9,
1921, a special tax of : ' , "upon each one hundred dOl-
lars of the assessed valuation of such property as asse~sed by
the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino, and re-
turned by the County Auditor of the County of San Bernardino,
and. the tax so levied and to be collected is hereby appropriated

in Annexation Districts No.2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, as said

fying the Ordinances of, and prOViding a code of laws for the
City of San Bernardino", passed August 8, 1921, and approved

and returned by the County Audi tor of the County of San Bernar-

SECTION FOUR: That there is also hereby levied for
the present fiscal year on all taxable property within the cor-
porate limits of the City of San Bernardino, except the proper-
ty within Annexation Districts No.3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 end 9, as
said districts are described in Section 202 of Ordinance No.

yon Water Bonds, due and to become due or to accrue during the
presen t fiscal year.

SECTION EIGHT: The taxes hereby levied shall be col-
lected at the same time and in the same manner as state and
County taxes, and when collected, shall be paid to the Treasur-
er of the City of San Bernardino.
SECTION NINE: The respective amounts hereinbefore
designated as being the amount of ta.xes levied on such one hun-
dred dollars of the assessed valuation of all property herein-
before referred to as assessed by the County As~essor and re-
turned by the County Auditor are hereby fixed as the respective
rates of tax for the present fiscal year for the purposes here-
inbefore designated.
SECTION TEN: The City Clerk is hereby directed to
irmnediately transmit to the County Auditor of the County of San
Bernardino. a certified copy of this Ordinance and a statement
of the tax hereby levied.
SECTION ELEVEN: It is hereby found and determined
and declared that this Ordinance is urgently required for the
irmnediate preservation of the publiC health and safety, that
tills Ordinance is prOVided by and adopted pursuant to the pro-
visions of Section 130 of the City Charter of the City of San
Bernardino, and an Act of the Legislature of the State of Cal-

ifornia, approved March 27, 1925, and referred to in this sec-
tion of said City Charter by its title, and by the provisions of
said Act this Ordinance must take effec t before the 31st day of
August, 1926, in order to levy a valid tax for municipal pur-
poses and wi thout which Ordinance and tax there will be insuf-
ficient revenue or funds to defray the expenses of the health
and police department or any other department of said City.
SECTION TWELVE: The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this Ordinance by a two- thirds vote of the Conmon
Council, and shall care the same to _be P~b,lished for three con-
secutive days in ~~Effi?/V1fi~)QA1r1-AA< a daily
newspaper published and circulated in the City of San Bernar-
dino, hereby deSignated for that purpose.
SECTION THIRTEEN: This Ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the whole number of members of
the Comnon Council of the Ci ty of San Bernardino is five, and
that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted by said COllllllon Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the c-3//:zt~ day of
