9 The Mayor and Common Council of the city of San Ber-
10 nardino do ordain as follows:

SECTION Olf.E: The City of San Bernardino Hereby elects
12 to avail itself of the pr ivilege of an Act entitled "An Act to
13 provide for the levy a.nd collection of taxes by and for the use
14 of municipal corporations and cities incorporated under the laws
15 of the State of California) except municipal corporations of the
16 first class, and to provide for the consolidation and aboJition
17 of certain municipal officers and to provide that their duties
18 may be performed by certain offic ers of the County, and fixing
19 the compensation to be allowed for such County Officers for the
20 services so rendered to such municipal corporations", approved
21 March 27, 1895, and all amendments thereof; and until further
22 order the assessment of taxable property within the said City,
23 and the levy and collection of taxes for the revenue for carry-
24 ing on the va!' ious departments of said C i ty-, and to pay the
25 bonded and other indebtedness, shall be assessed, levied and
26 collected as in said Act is consistent with the provisions of
27 the Charter of the said City.

SECTIOl\f T\YO: That the County Aud.itor be, and he is
29 hereby requested, when transmi tting to the Mayor and Common
30 Council the statement provided in Section 3 of the aforesa.id
31 Act, to set forth in said statement the total value of all
32 property within various portions of said City) hereinafter des-

That said tt Old City" and said Annexa.tion Districts
Nos. 1 to 11, inclusive, are described in Section 202, of Or-
dinance lfo. 821, entitled "An Ordinance revising and codifying
the Ordinance of, and providing a code of laws for the City of
San Bernard ino" 1 passed August 8, 1921, an.d approved August 9,
1921, which said Ordinance No. a2l is hereby referred to for a.
particular description of said portion of said City.
SECTION THREE: Upon the ~loption of this Ordinance,
the City Clerk shall immediately file a certified copy thereof,
together with a certified copy of Section 202 of said Ordinance
No. 821, with the following officers of the County of San Ber-
nardino:
One with the Assessor; one with the Tax Collector,
and one with the Auditor.
SECTION FOUR: It is hereby found and declared that
this is an Ordinance for the immediate preservation of the pub-
lic peace, health and safety, and that this is an urgency
measure, it being an Ordinance provided by and adopted pursuant

to Section 130 of the Charter of the City of San Bernardino,
and the same shall take effect immediately upon its adoption
and approval.
SECTION FIVE: The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this Ordinance by a two-thirds vote ~f the Comrnon
Council of the City of San Bernardino, and shall cause the same

I ImREBY CERTIFY' that the whole number of members of
the Common Council of t}~ City of San Bernardino is five, and
that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted by said Common Coun-
