TERRACE DISTRICT NO. 2 THE PROPOSITION OF A.NNEXING THE TERRACE
4 DISTRICT NO. 2 TO THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDIUO.
5 WHEREAS, a written petition signed by more than one-
6 fourth in number of the qualified electors residing in the
7 terri tory hereinafter descr ibed, as shoVln by the registration
8 of voters of the County of San Bernardino, has been nresented
9 to the IVlayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino,
10 asking that the territory hereinafter described be annexed to
11 the City of San Bernardino, which said 'Deti t ion con tain s a de-
12 scription o.f the territory proposed to be annexed to said City;
13 and
14 WHEREAS, suc~ petition contains a request that the
15 question to be submitted to the electors residing in the terri-
16 tory proposed by such petition to be annexed to said City, shall
17 be whether such new territory shall be annexed to, incorporated
18 in, and made a part of said municipal corporation, and the prop-
19 erty therein be, after such annexation, subject to taxation
20 equally with the property within such municipal corporation to
21 pay the hereinafter spec ified portion of the bonded indebtedness
22 of such municipal corporation outstanding at the date of the
23 filing of such petition or theretofore authorized;

NOW, THEREFORE, tb.e Mayor and Common Counc i1 of the
25 City of San Bernardino do ordain as follows:

SECTIOR ONE: That the question whether such territory
hereinafter described shall be annexed to, incorporated in, and

made a nart of the City of San Ber'l1u,rdino, be submitted to the

qualified voters of the territory hereinafter described, at a
special election to be held for that purpose, and that a special
30

election be, and is hereby called, a.nd will be held in said ter-

That the said proposition shall be voted u~on at said
election as follows, to-wit:

nexation, subject to taxation equally with the property within
such municipal corporation, to pay the following specified bond-
ed indebtedness of such municipal corporation, outstanding at
the date of the said annexation, to-wit:
Bonds for :Public Convention Hall, amount outstanding,
$175,000.00, rate of interest, five per cent per annum, paYl:-l.ble

The qualified electors of said territory hereinafter
mentioned are directed to vote upon such question as follows: If
an elector shall stwnp a cross (x) in the voting square after
the printed word "Yes", the vote of said elector shall oe count-
ed in favor of the annexation of the territory hereinafter men-
tioned, to the City of San Bernardino; and if an elector shall
stamp a cross (x) in the squa.re after the printed 'vord "Non, the
vote of said elector shall be counted against said annexation.
SECTION THREE: Said special election shall be conduct-
ed by a board of election consisting of two judges and one in-
spector.
SECTION FOUR: At said special election, tl1e polls
shall be opened at six 0' clock on the morning of the day of said
election, and must be kept open until seven o'clock on the af-
ternoon of the same day, at which time the polls shall be closed.
That for the pur~se of said election, said territory hereinafter
described shall consist of one election precinct, to be designat-
ed "Annexation Prec inct No.1".

election is that it is proposed to annex to, incorvorate in, and
make a part of the City of San Bernardino, that certain terri-
tory situated in the County of San Bernardino, state of Califor-
nia, the exterior boundaries of which are specifically described
as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at a point in the present City Limits of the
City of San Bernardino, said point being in the South line of
the North one-quarter of the South one-half of Section Seven (7),
Township One (1) South, Range Four (4) West, San Bernardino
Meridian, 150 feet East of the East line of the West one-half of
said Section Seven (7), Township One (I), South, Range Four (4)
West, San Bernardino J~er idian; thence Wester1y along the South
line of the North one-quarter of the South one-half of said Sec-
tion Seven, Township One (1) South, Range Four (4) West, San
Bernardino Meridian, and the South line, extended West, of the
North one-quarter of the South one-half of said Section Seven
(7), Township One (1) South, Range Four (4) West, San Bernardino
Meridian, being along the present City Limits of the City of San
Bernardino to a point 660 feet West of the West line of Meridian
street; thence Northerly and Parallel with the West line of
Meridian street, being along the present City Limits of the City
of Sa.n Bernardino, to the South 1 ine 0 f the Pac ific EIectr io
Railway Company's right of way; thence Westerly along the South
line of the :Pac ific Electric Railway Co~any' s right of way to a
point 150 feet West of the West line of Pepper Avenue; thence
Southerly and parallel with the West line of Pepper Avenue ~o

ter line of Perris Avenue to the center line of Eucalyptus Avenue;

SECTION SIX: For the purpose of identification, said
territory shall be referred to herein by the name and deaigna-
tion of "Terrace District No. 2'1, and by such des i 6nat ion said
terr itory may be referred to and indicated upon the ballot to
be used at such election.
SECTION SEVEN: The M~yor and COlnmon Council herebY
find, determine and declare that the territory herein described,
which is proposed to be annexed to the City of San Bernardino,
is contiguous to said municipality.
SECTION EIGHT: The City Cler:k shall cause this Ordi-
nance to be published for ten consecutive days in the ,san

SECTION NINE: This Ordinance shall take effect and
be in force from and after its passage and approval.
