CALLING A SP]Xj IAL ElECTION TO BE HELD 3 FOR Tllli PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE Q,UALIFIED )~IECTORS OF THE TERRACE DISTRICT NO. 2 THE PROPOSITION OF A.NNEXING THE TERRACE 4 DISTRICT NO. 2 TO THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDIUO. 5 WHEREAS, a written petition signed by more than one- 6 fourth in number of the qualified electors residing in the 7 terri tory hereinafter descr ibed, as shoVln by the registration 8 of voters of the County of San Bernardino, has been nresented 9 to the IVlayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino, 10 asking that the territory hereinafter described be annexed to 11 the City of San Bernardino, which said 'Deti t ion con tain s a de- 12 scription o.f the territory proposed to be annexed to said City; 13 and 14 WHEREAS, suc~ petition contains a request that the 15 question to be submitted to the electors residing in the terri- 16 tory proposed by such petition to be annexed to said City, shall 17 be whether such new territory shall be annexed to, incorporated 18 in, and made a part of said municipal corporation, and the prop- 19 erty therein be, after such annexation, subject to taxation 20 equally with the property within such municipal corporation to 21 pay the hereinafter spec ified portion of the bonded indebtedness 22 of such municipal corporation outstanding at the date of the 23 filing of such petition or theretofore authorized; 24 NOW, THEREFORE, tb.e Mayor and Common Counc i1 of the 25 City of San Bernardino do ordain as follows: 26 SECTIOR ONE: That the question whether such territory hereinafter described shall be annexed to, incorporated in, and 27 28 made a nart of the City of San Ber'l1u,rdino, be submitted to the 29 qualified voters of the territory hereinafter described, at a special election to be held for that purpose, and that a special 30 31 election be, and is hereby called, a.nd will be held in said ter- 32 ritory hereinafter described, on;C",-,pltj tI ~ 1 J the II!f day -1- 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 1 of /X4~( !, , 1927, for the purpose of submitting to the qual- 2 ified electors residing in the territory hereinafter des.cribed 3 and proposed by said petition hereinabove mentioned to be annexed 4 to said City of San Bernardino, the question whether such terri- 5 tory shall be annexed to, incorporated in, and made a part of 6 said City of San Bernardino, and the pro~erty therein be, after 7 such annexation, subject to taxation equally with the property 8 within such municipal corporation to pay the hereinafter speci- fied nortion 0 f the bonded indebtedness of such munic ipal corpo- ra tion ou tstanding at the date of the fil ing 0 f said pet it io n or theretofore authorized. The qualified electors of said territory hereinafter mentioned are directed to vote upon such question as follows: If an elector shall stwnp a cross (x) in the voting square after the printed word "Yes", the vote of said elector shall oe count- ed in favor of the annexation of the territory hereinafter men- tioned, to the City of San Bernardino; and if an elector shall stamp a cross (x) in the squa.re after the printed 'vord "Non, the vote of said elector shall be counted against said annexation. SECTION THREE: Said special election shall be conduct- ed by a board of election consisting of two judges and one in- spector. SECTION FOUR: At said special election, tl1e polls shall be opened at six 0' clock on the morning of the day of said election, and must be kept open until seven o'clock on the af- ternoon of the same day, at which time the polls shall be closed. That for the pur~se of said election, said territory hereinafter described shall consist of one election precinct, to be designat- ed "Annexation Prec inct No.1". SECTION SEVEN: The M~yor and COlnmon Council herebY find, determine and declare that the territory herein described, which is proposed to be annexed to the City of San Bernardino, is contiguous to said municipality.
