FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE Q,UAIJIFIED EL.]X;TORS OF
THE MUSCarT DISTRICT THE PROPOSITION OF ANNEXING THE MUSCOTT
DISTRICT TO THE CITY OF SAN BERNA~DINO.

WHEREAS, a. written petition signed by YI,!O,t..8: than one-
fourth in number of the qualified electors residing in the
territory hereinafter described, as shown by the registration
of voters of the County of San Bernardino, ha.s been nresented
to the Mayor and Common Counc i1 of the City of San Bernardino,
asking that the territory hereinafter described be annexed to
the City of San Bernardino, which said petition contains a de-
scription of the territory proposed to be annexed to said
City; and
WHEREAS, such petition contains a request that the
quest ion to be submi t ted to the elec tors res id ing in the ter-
ritory proposed by such petition . ,to be annexed to said C itYi'
shall be whether such new terr itory shall .oe annexed to, in-
corporated in, and made a part of said municipal corpor~tion,
and the -property therein be, after such a.nnexa.tion, subject
to taxation equally with the pro~erty within such municipal
corporation to -pay the hereinafter spec ified 'Oortion 0 f the
bonded indebtedness of such munic ipa,l corporation,-'outstandlng
at the date of the filing of such petition or theretofore au-
thor ized;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Mayor and COlnmon Council of the
City of San Bernardino do ordain as follows:
SECTION ONE: That the question whether such terri-
tory hereinafter described shall be annexed to, incorporated
in, and made a part of the City of San Bernardino, be submit-
ted to the qualified voters of the territory hereinafter de-
scribed, at a special election to be held for that purpose, and

The qualified electors of said territory hereinafter
mentioned are directed to vote upon such question as follows:
If an elector shall stamp a cross (x) in the voting square af-
ter the printed word "Yes", the vote of said elector shall be
counted in favor of the annexation of the territory hereinaf-
ter mentioned, to the City of San Bernardino; and if an elector
shall st~~p a cross (x) in the square after the printed word
UNo", the vote of said elector shall be counted against sa.id
annexation.
SECTION TFffiEE: Said special election shall be con-
ducted by a board of election consisting of two judges and one
inspector.
SECTION FOUR: At said special election, the polls
shall be opened at six O'clock on the morning of the day of
said election, and must be kept o~en until seven o'clock on the
afternoon of the same day, at which time the nol1s shall be
closed. That for the ~urpose of said election, said territory
hereinafter described shall consist of one .election precinct,
to be designated "Annexation prec inct No. Iff.

SECTION FIVE: That the proposit~on submitted at such
election is that it is proposed to annex to, incorporate in,
and make a part of the City of San Bernardino, that certain
territory situated in the County of San Bernardino, state of
California, the exterior boundaries of which are specifically
described as follows, to-wit:

the City of San Bernardino, said point being at the intersec-
tion of the East line of Mt. Vernon Avenue with the North line
of the San Bernardino Rancho, as per plat thereof recorded in
Book 7 of Maps, at page 2, records of San Bernardino County;
thence Southerly along the East line of Mt. Vernon Avenue, be-
ing along the present corporate limits of the City of San Ber-
nardino, to the South line of Highland Avenue; thence Westerly
along the South line of Highland Avenue, being along the pres-
ent corporate limits of the City of San Bernardino, to the
