Bernardino do ordain as follows:

SECTION o~m: That Section One of Ordinance No.

630 entitled, "An Ordinance Regulating and Licensing the Business
of Transporting Passengers for hire in Motor Vehicles and Regulat-
ing and Licensing Operators of Such Motor Vehicles and Fixing
Penalty for its Violation", adopted and approved May 31st, 1916,
be and hereby is amended to read as follows:
Section One: It shall be unlawful for any perso~
firm or corporation to engage in, conduct or carryon the business
of transporting passengers for hire in any motor vehicle without

first obtaining a license so to do. Any person, firm or corpora-

tion desiring to engage in or conduct or carryon the business
20
of transporting passengers for hire shall make apPlic~Jion to the
Mayor and Common Council, in writing, for a license. ~ith such
21

application shall be set forth the name, age and address of the
applicant together with description of the vehicle or vehicles
23
24
to be used in such business and a statement that the applicant
25
will comply with all of the provisions of this ordinance and or
26 any Statute regulating the use of motor vehicles. Such appli-
27 cation must be accompanied by a good and sufficient policy of
28 insurance with a reputable stock insurance company in the sum of
29 Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,OOO.OO)to indemnify the O~terator
30 of said mo tor vehicle against 10s6 arising or resul ting from claims
31 for damages on account of bodily injuries suffered, or alleged
32 to have been suffered, including death, resulting at any time

therefrom by anyone person by reaSon of the ownership, mainten-

ance or use of said motor vehicle; and in the sum of ;l~50,OOO.OO

against loss arising from such. claims for damages on account of

injuries, or death, suffered by more than one person; provided
4
the.. t such person, or persons, shall have the r igh t to maintain an

action or actions upon S11Ch policy for the recovery of sucn damages;

applicant, be kept in full force and effect throughout the term of I

shall be deposi ted wi th the Ci ty Clerk of said Ci ty during the terml
of such license, and in the event that such policy of insurance sha~l
expire, oe revoked, or be otherwise terminated, such license shall, 1

without notice to the applicant and licensee and upon order of the I

provided further that such policy of insurance shall, by such

the license applied for herein and that such policy of insurance

Mayor and Common Council of said Ci ty be thereupon revoked.

If the Mayor and C017'.J'llon Counc i1 shall approve such

application the Ci ty Clerk shall issue a license to the applicant
17
upon the payment of the license fees as hereinafter provided.
