HomeMy WebLinkAbout3702 II I 1 ORDINANCE NO. .dl 7/1 :J- / 2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO WHEREBY SAID CITY ELECTS TO AVAIL ITSELF OF THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 2 OF CHAPTER 3 1 OF DIVISION 4 OF TITLE 4 OF THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT CODE PERTAINING TO THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF PROPERTY TAXES. 4 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO 5 DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 6 SECTION 1. The City of San Bernardino hereby elects to 7 avail itself of those provisions of Article 2 of Chapter 1 of 8 Division 4 of Title 4 of the California Government Code, Sections 9 43090 et seq., said provisions setting forth the alternative 10 method for the levy and collection of City property taxes wherein 11 and whereby the same are levied and collected by the County of 12 San Bernardino; and until further order, the assessment of 13 taxable property within the said City, and the levy and collec- 14 tion of taxes for revenue to carryon the various departments 15 of said City and to pay the bonded and other indebtedness, shall I I be assessed, levied and collected as provided in said Code and the Charter of said City. 16 17 18 SECTION 2. The County Auditor is hereby requested, 19 I pursuant to Section 43090 of said Government Code, to transmit I! to the legislative body of the City of San Bernardino a written " 'I ;:::~m:::l:::::n:h:h:O::~:t::l:: ::ea~:t:r::e::: ::::::d:::dwas I originally constituted, and all property subsequently annexed I ,I II thereto, as described in an ordinance of said City concerning I annexation District Nos. 1 to 306 inclusive. I SECTION 3. This ordinance is adopted as an urgency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and general welfare and shall go into immediate effect pursuant to section 131 of the Charter of said City. The facts constituting such urgency are that this ordinance involves the taxation of property and the method of the levying and collection of City taxes needed for the anticipated revenue to carryon the needs of the City. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was duly adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino at a-:7<//'?
