Hello,
I am writing in to express the serious lack of attention to the growing homeless encampments all over the city. This
issue needs to be stopped immediately! When is the Mayor and the city council going to place a ban on
encampments? “Governor is calling on all local governments to act without delay and use their authority affirmed
by the U.S. Supreme Court to address encampments.” Is this being considered? The Governor has made it clear that
encampments must be addressed. When is San Bernardino going to evolve and move forward like other surrounding
cities? If I was Mayor or part of city council I would be embarrassed! This is our home and you are allowing this so
please clean them up! Another issue is the lack of repairs for street lights that are out. I have submitted several
request and none have been addressed. Example 1- Highland Ave and Mt.Vernon bridge has not had working lights
for over a year! Has this been addressed ? Example 2- Cajon Blvd and Western Ave all street lights in front of the
warehouse have been out for over a year! Example 3-Cajon Blvd and Majestic Ave 2 street lights have been out for
almost 2 years now! Cajon Blvd is very dark and I would assume this would be a priority! Have I submitted request
on the GoSBcity app? Yes, several requests all request are still open. I do want to give a shout out to the team who
quickly responds to all graffiti removal and illegal dumping requests! I do notice the quick action that is taken. The
city has a lot of potential! We need better moves and quick thinking leadership who is not scared! This is “Your”
home the Mayor and council members should show pride. We need major cleanups throughout the entire city. Are
street sweepers still a thing?
Thank you,
San Bernardino Resident
