Please include this public comment as connected to Item 11 on today's City Council agenda.
Last month I submitted the below message regarding the time change to one of the city's
commissions. The meeting to that commission was immediately cancelled without proper
reason given to the public. We were under the assumption that our public comments that were
submitted for that meeting would roll over to this month's - it was not. It is our understanding
that the acting director stated no public comments were submitted for any meeting - if that's
the case then why does my record show that my message was submitted to the email on the
agenda, and that connected to the city council public comments? We submit public comments
via email because we can not make it at 4PM. It feels like city staff is keeping the public away
from engaging on key items. Staff should not interfere when it comes to civil engagements.
Shame on the staff person who canceled the meeting and lied.

Please share the following with the committee before the meeting and vote.
A 4:00 PM meeting start excludes much of our working community from participating in vital
conversations about the arts and our city’s history. Shifting to 6:00 PM ensures that
decisions are made with representation from a diverse range of residents, including working
families, students, and artists. Public access is not just a courtesy—it is a cornerstone of
fair and transparent governance. Please consider this change in the spirit of inclusion.
