This 240,000 square foot health facility will employ 700 health professionals and serve 60,000 patients a year. The campus will also be the new home of the Loma Linda School of Dentistry. EV Realty EV Truck Charging Center Breaks Ground EV Realty has started construction on a new EV truck charging facility on Mill Street. With 76 charging stations, this will be one of the largest charging centers in the Inland Empire. Grand Openings and Ribbon Cuttings San Bernardino Gets its First Jersey Mike’s Jersey Mike’s Subs opened its first San Bernardino store with a location on Harriman Place. Operator Jorge Gonzalez came to the U.S. at the age of five and skipped college to work as a delivery driver to earn money for his family. He now owns 90 Jersey Mike’s and is their largest franchisee. National Veterans Chamber of Commerce On September 23rd, the National Veterans Chamber of Commerce opened a branch in San Bernardino. Housed in the Arrowhead United Way building at 646 North D Street, the Veterans Chamber will serve as a one stop shop to serve the estimated 220,000 veterans living in the Inland Empire. City News Tourism Delegation from Mexico Visits San Bernardino The Economic Development Department in partnership with Discover IE hosted members of the Mexican tourism media to learn about local tourism opportunities and the upcoming 100th anniversary of Route 66. Among the notable points of interest were the original McDonalds site, the Wigwam Motel and San Bernardino County Museum. Feldheym Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary The best of Feldheym was on display on Monday as attendees celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Norman F. Feldheym Central Library. One of the highlights was SPARK-E, an animatronic robot from Garner Holt Productions who will be a part of the Library’s new animaker space, which will open in early 2026. 201 Building Closed to Public on Friday Public access to customer service counters at 201 North E Street will be closed on Friday, October 3rd to complete office improvements. This will affect customers seeking assistance from the Parks and Recreation, Business Registration, and City Clerk’s offices. Representatives from each will be available to assist residents via phone at (909) 998-2000. Classic cars, food, music, and more will take over much of Downtown San Bernardino at the 12th annual Rendezvous Back to Route 66 on Saturday, October 11. The event, organized by the San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce, is free to attend and will run from 9:00 am – 9:00 pm. Rendezvous Back to Route 66 Returns to Downtown on October 11 The San Bernardino Police Department will be hosting their annual Coptoberfest on Thursday, October 9 from 4:00 – 7:30 pm at the SBPD Headquarters at 710 North D Street. There will games, a petting zoo, demonstrations, music, dancing, food, and much more to bring the SBPD together with the community, especially the kids! October 14 State of the City Register today for the State of the City, presented by Truck Terminal Properties and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center/California University of Science & Medicine, to be held on October 14 at the Historic California Theater. A community reception will start at 4:30 pm for all attendees with the program following at 5:30 pm. The event is free to attend, but you must register in advance on the City’s website.
